You still need a page file as that is how windows OS is working.
You will need to check your computer's specs to see how much (maximum) RAM you can use.. Some can only use 16, others 32, some 64, and fewer 128+, THEN, buy (2) matching sticks of the same size and speed; 8+8, or 16+16 etc.
2x 8Gb (16Gb) will run faster/better than 1x 16Gb (16Gb)
2x 16Gb (32Gb) will run better/faster than 1x 32Gb (32Gb)
for what it's worth, at 32Gb I struggle at times to play smoothly with my 5300+ assets and most DLCs, so I think snow's general assessment in the first post is likely just about right. This game is the biggest RAM hog I've ever played
Indeed. I run 64Gb RAM plus a 64Gb Page file, and with a small 1-3 tile city, I use over 35Gb RAM and 37Gb of Page file. All DLC and a few Utility mods + Vanilla++ roads.
Especially if you have fallen victim to asset mongering :)
Asset mongering lol. If you only knew how many assets I've *deleted*...
In all fairness there are some really cool assets out there that really add a lot to the game and help me to enjoy it more. Also a lot of the assets are simply parts of other assets. Also I like to have choices and variability (not every building and intersection looks the same in the real world either you know?)
