MacOS Macbook Air M1 - No 16:9 aspect ratio
I have had a few problems over the last few days trying to play the game. Firstly, whenever I am in fullscreen mode, there is an offset between where the mouse pointer is and where it clicks.

I solved the problem by playing in windowed mode only. It still persists whenever I switch to fullscreen mode.

Then, I could not find a resolution which fills the screen completely in windowed mode. I tried "-screen-width 1680 -screen-height 945" and I also tried installing a mod called "More aspect ratios". None of these worked, the window is either to small or to big to fully fill the screen of my mac.

I can run the game in borderless mode using "'-popupwindow", but then the mouse cursor does not change from the MacOS default to the in-game cursor and I have no keyboard input to the game. I can click on stuff but not use WSAD keys or type anythin.

Any other suggestions?

This issue is caused by the "notch" in the screen. You can fix it by bringing up the "Get Info" window for the "Cities" application and selecting the "Scale to fit below built-in camera" option.

I have done this and set my resolution to the default resolution for the Mac screen and have no problems playing in 16:9 aspect ratio. I am running on a M1 MacBook Pro.

I tried using this mod, but it only changes the UI scale, it does not fix the mouse pointer misalignment or the window size mismatch.

To add to Intellections post: I suspect the issue is related to this, but I don't have the option to change "Scale to fit below built-in camera", because my laptop does not have a notch
I solved the problem. It was caused by the option "Automatically Show and hide the menu bar in full screen" being checked in system preferences > Dock and menu bar. I unchecked the box, and now the cursor offset is gone.

Oops. Sorry, I was assuming the new MacBook Air.

Glad you figured it out and got it working!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
