Collecting garbage from pedestrian road?

So I bought this new dlc and built homes around pedestrian roads. How do I get garbage trucks to collect garbage from the homes?

There are special pedestrian service buildings that you have to build in the zone

Garbage and commercial freight needs of all buildings in pedestrian zones are handled by the pedestrian zone service buildings.

You paint a pedestrian area over the buildings and place a service point in the area. Then the garbage gets picked up from the service point.

Well I painted the pedestrian zone, made pedestrian roads, but it says its forbidden to place the service points on that road. So how do you ever collect garbage from houses built on pedestrian roads? I change the road the service point is on to a regular road, but trucks still wont go out since the houses are still built on pedestrian rouds.

The service point needs to be placed on a regular road as garbage trucks need to be get to it. It isn't a service that runs on pedestrian streets, it's a collection point for outside traffic. If that makes sense :)

Okay I think I have figured it out. I had first painted the pedestrian area and then placed the service building. But it turns out I had to place the service building and then expand its own pedestrian zone.

...or paint the pedestrian zone over the service building. Worked for me just now when I accidentally erased it.
