Unable to keep custom resolution
Hello,
I'm setting a custom resolution in my launch options for the game with:

-screen-width 2160 -screen-height 1388 -windowed

And the game starts to launch in the resolution. However, shortly after it loads it resets the window resolution to the nearest resolution in 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10 depending on what I have selected.

I have a 21:9 monitor (3440x1440) and I'm trying to set the window to be as large as possible, while leaving space to the side for other windows, with out having to resize the window every time.

If I set it to the following, it won't resize after launch, but would preferr having the extra space for other windows.

-screen-width 2304 -screen-height 1388 -windowed

It would seem that it only likes custom resolutions within certain bounds.

Host OS is Ubuntu 16.04 with Nvidia GTX 970 (binary Nvidia drivers at v367.44).

I have a screen with 21:9 3440x1440 and it works fine, I can take a screenshot of my settings in a bit

The higher resolutions work just fine, the issue is that when the game starts it doesn't keep the custom resolution that is being defined by the command line options. The game initially starts with the defined resolution, then it resizes itself to the closest 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10 resolution depending on what is selected in the game options. I can resize the window back to where I want it after launch, but I shouldn't have to do that if I'm explictly setting a game window resolution from the startup options.

Did you ever figure out a solution? I'm running into the same issue.

I just got a new SSD for x-mass and installed Ubuntu 22.10 Cities Skylines (Steam) without issues. I am using all AMD hardware, so maybe it is a little more compatible with the game than nvidia's proprietary drivers?

I just used the drivers from auto-update and didn't install any drivers nor GPU apps.
