Is there any way to turn OFF the suspension bridge towers on long bridges?
I'm trying to set up a San Francisco map and want to have a good looking Golden Gate Bridge feed into the playable area. I've looked at other San Fran Maps and they all opt for short spans so as to avoid the towers. The ones I've seen end up with a lot of pillars.

I've seen Sky Storme accomplish that on shorter bridges by putting a slight bend in the road section but on something as long as a Golden Gate (even with pillars off) I end up with a kinda jagged effect instead of a straight roadway.

Dunno how well it'd fit your needs, but I've found that building the bridge using 2-lanes or 4-lanes to begin with then upgrading to the 6-lanes/highways appears to avoid the suspension towers.

A very very slight bend is the way I made this extremely long 'Super Span Bridge'. The fact that it's not perfectly straight actually adds to the appearance I feel too.

Try it out and if you don't succeed, I could do a step by step build guide, if you wish.

Thanks for your offer grapplehoeker. But, I do understand the very slight curve that keeps towers from forming. Problem is that connecting up the curved sections is a very, very picky if you want it to be unnoticeable. I can (and have) done that as a stop-gap measure but I was hoping for a more elegant solution. BTW... you're more of a perfectionist than I. Yours looks great.

Put a slight curve on the bridge to make it disappear. Usually high bridges that go straight for certain distance will auto generate the suspension bridge, which can be annoying. However, if you are using mods on the PC version, then just choose the option to not use the suspension function (forgot the name of the mod but), hopefully this helps, if not then I’m sorry.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
