I can't play anymore

Hello guys,

I played cities skylines normally until 05/06/22 (at night), after that, the game stop work.. it doesn't launch anymore..

When I click on Steam play button (windows 7) nothing happens (but I can see Cities Skylines "running" on Steam display, i can see 3 instances of "Paradox Launcher.exe" in the windows task manager (C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Programs\Paradox Interactive\launcher\launcher-v2.2022.7)

but nothing happens.. no error message..

If I stop the game on Steam (click stop button), all my system breaks, I need to reset my PC.

On Ubuntu, Cities Skylines starts, I can see mains menu, but I have no save games, when I click on "New Game" all system crashs, I need to reset my PC.


I tried:

install and reinstall steam and city skyline in windows 7 and ubuntu 16;
unsubscribed all mods anda deactivated all dlc
checked files integrity
checked other games (work normally, I have no problem with steam or other games)

all these changes happened without I changed any settings on my pc..

can you help me?

I have the same issues. Tried everything that is recommended by other people. I have decided to seek help on forum and open ticket to the team. It can sound extreme but I think the only solution is to uninstall steam or re-install windows. Not sure though.

I've been having the same problem with this game. I have tried everything possible, nothing. The only thing that works is resetting my entire computer to factory, after that it'll work for a while then it starts doing the same thing over again. I am tire of resetting my computer over and over again I need answers on how to fix this, please?

windows 7 is no longer supported so I would guess it is finally dying on you.

RAM has nothing to do with it, this game can run smoothly and perfectly with 8GB. Tons of people have the same issue on Paradox forum and this is nothing to do with RAM right now. It can be simply anti-virus or program, or a launcher issue, just like one of the moderators explained it on the forum.

I don't know why, but I deactivated all dlcs, uninstall "paradox launcher 2" (using windows ccleaner), tried to play (via Steam), the system reinstalled the paradox launcher, but "voilá" cities skyline came back.. then I activated all dlcs.. it's ok now..

Get rid of the Paradox Launcher. There is a tutorial in the Guides section here on steam how to write a batch file (text file) and get cities to start directly without the Paradox Launcher running at all.
