Problem with starting the game
I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. When I start up the game it says that the game is running, but nothing happens on the screen. It's like it's running in the background. I've tried restarting my computer and even reinstalled the game but nothing works. Has anyone else had this problem and, if so, what did you do about it?

I tried both, without success. I've got 147 gb free space so that shouldn't be a problem. And I could play it a couple of months ago.
Wait, I upgraded to Windows 11 about a month ago... Could that be the problem?

el_pucko2 I'm on Win11, worked fine until Skylines had an update recently.
Running fewer mods/assets than before, now suddenly I'm out of RAM. (32gig + 64gig pagefile apparently not enough for mods and one district style... hmm?).
Something is up with Skylines, or maybe some of the mods, hopefully they get a patch out soon.

are you guys using loading screen?

RAM & page file should be sufficient. Mine is running with 16GB RAM and 48GB page file

I have the same problem. On old laptop game was working without any problems. Now, I bought new laptop installed Steam, installed Cities: Skylines and in Library says that game is running but nothing happens. At one point I uninstalled game and Steam, installed both again and game launcher showed up. Started the game but when I pressed New game, choose map loading line just went to about 80% and just stoped (or loaded). Anyone know what is going on, is there solution? New laptop has 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB SSD m.2 (with a lot of space), Intel i5, and GeForce RTX 3050 Ti.

Just to inform you, the game started normaly and I managed to load a map and play. Looks like the problem was in DirectX drivers. I downloaded L.A. Noire installed it, install fresh DirectX, and both games started to act normaly (playable).

If you don't see the Paradox launcher please try a clean install of it using these steps:

If that doesn't work or only helps once, use the method described here to bypass the launcher:

I have the same problem. Verifying game files and reinstalling is not fixing it.

Please see my reply above yours, and if that doesn't help, let me know. :)

I'm not good with computers and english is not my first language so I'm going to ask a (silly) question. It says to start Steam as Administrator, and I¨ve done that, but then it says to start the game directly from the installation directory. What does that mean?
Also, when I turn the off the game it just says that the game is stopping, but nothing else happens. I have to restart the computer for it to fully stop.
Thanks for the help!
