Object reference not set to an instance of an object [System.NullReferenceException] Details: No details
I got this message a hundred times after playing for a while and I'm unable to close it. When I try to close it, the message appears after a half second again. I can't close it so I also can't play. I tried to disable some mods and assets but it didn't help. Please tell me if there is a way to fix this problem. Please I need help!

Disabling workshop items causes this issues.

Try the loading screen mod. Make sure to enable reports, which will have links to missing assets. Read instructions carefully.

A null reference error is a generic error report when an asset is missing or a mod that requires an asset that's missing fails or vice versa.
The fact that the error is being generated every few seconds is the clue to tracking the culprit.
It means that the game is attempting to spawn a missing/faulty asset and that means it is either a building or, more likely, a vehicle (due to the frequency of the error report).
So, think back. Have you recently removed a vehicle that was present during the time you saved that city but is no longer present? Are you perhaps using a mod that is configured to spawn a particular vehicle that is no longer present due to being disabled or unsubscribed (or even removed from the workshop by the author)?
It's time to do some detective work on your part.
For the future, you may wish to use this mod to manage your mods and assets better and ensure you have a complete custom content configuration for your saves.

I think both of these should help you narrow it down. Good luck!

The "Modern Water Tower" is I believe is what is doing this to me.

Loading screen mod told me it failed to load wether I subscribed to it or not.
Did you have this asset, now or any time in the past?

I had this happen to me twice. Once was due to my "Don't Crash" mod, strangely. Second time was because I had downloaded an asset (with multiple subassets), but my Loading Screen Mod listed a subasset as missing, even though I know I had it downloaded, but it was apparently an old asset that hadn't been updated or something.

THANK YOU!!! This error was caused by an broken asset I downloaded. It was a vehicle. Thanks a lot! Now I'm able to play again. ;D

Glad to hear it. Also my problem all along was a RICO asset that had custom settings on it I no longer had.

I had the same problem and I think it was because I recently unsubscribed from like 50 assets to see if the game would lag less. I tried clicking "ok" on the error message until they would go away for a few seconds and quickly saved the game again before the error messages reappeared. I went to the menu again and reloaded the game and the error messages have disappeared so I hope that helps someone. I also drew a district around all areas with buildings but I doubt that had anything to do with it.

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but what is a "vehicle" supposed to be?

I have the same problems with some train tracks

Vehicles means all vehicles. Cars, trucks, buses, trains, planes, ships, etc.
