Sound Stutter
I have a weird issue in the game, where my sound is like stuttering or crackling. it is really annoying, especially when playing with a headset. all my drivers are up to date and i don't have this issue with other games. is there a fix for this?

Not everyone is having this issue. Unfortunately this has been part of this game since the release and until now tech support and developer hasn't found a solution to the issue.

I'm with the ones who are having the issue...
Since 2015....both vanilla and modded

Which is a bit to drastic in my opinion.. just switch of your in-game sound.. In general the sound for this game is not really amazing.

Just throwing in my 2 cents, but this happens to me as well and has for years.

Buttery smooth 60 fps but the sound just stutters excruciatingly whenever I pan the camera around.

hello,
i also had the problem with a focusrite solo and/or sound blaster (creative). I have tried everything!
The stuttering did not go away.... so the game is no fun.

The solution was an external cheap USB sound card from Ugreen....
the only solution that really worked :-)

Some sound cards (old ones) may have issues. I just bought a cheapo usb sound jack and it works fine. Some of the posters sound issues sounds like overloaded workshop issues causing stuttering, or too many sound mods conflicting with each other.

This one works great! I bought it for my Hackintosh I built some years ago, and it works on windows just fine. It is a reasonable $9:

I have rejoiced too soon... unfortunately also here a stuttering of the sound... only slightly, but always disturbing.
too bad ... so I can not play the game ;(

I also have one similar to this ... stutters anyway ... I can not now test for a game 1000 felt usb cards :-)

have now tested 3 different sound cards ... Focusrite Solo (3gen.), Soundblaster Z (Creative), Ugreen - external USB soundcard and even the HDMI sound from the NVidia graphics card ... stutter ...

is really annoying with the game ...

hope with skylines 2 the problem is fixed ...

It sounds like workshop issues. Maybe post your workshop collection or use mod listing mod to make the list. Skyve might be able to do it too, but may be a bit of a challenge, as Skyve seems to be a work in progress still.

It's not soundcard, at least not most of the time. Vanilla is fine, never stutters but as soon as mods are introduced, it starts. And mods I use are very basic ones like harmony, loading screen, network anarchy and few other build related mods. No AI changing mods like TM:PE, reversible tram etc.

As soon as mods are enabled, stuttering starts. Never had enough interest to try mods one at a time to see which one causes it.

I have not installed any mods and still have the sound problem.

it is annoying...

and there seems to be somehow no solution ;(

What are your computer specs (CPU, GPU, and RAM)?

Do you have a video of sound issues so we can hear it?

Win 10 Home (64 Bit)
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming, Intel i7-6700K CPU 4.00GHZ
32 GB Ram+ SSD Drive
Geforce 1080 GTX 1080
Focusrite Solo (3 Gen.)

"Do you have a video of sound issues so we can hear it?"

no, unfortunately I have not.

it is always a short stutter, a minimal distorted crackling...

i never have this problem otherwise ...

when i zoom or turn the camera, it's only slight, but i'm very sensitive there and can't play the game like that...
and the sound / music completely turn off I also do not want ...

I'll try to record the video with the sound problem.

it also occurs when you do nothing at all at the beginning and only the music is playing.

Unfortunately, I could only record it from my cell phone.

I have marked two places where the sound problem is... the film runs 2 times in a row and there are 2 marks in the film.

actually at the beginning there is also a minimal stutter...
