Medium settings, two mods, 100k people, 7 squares, and it has never lagged or crashed.

When looking into whether or not my laptop could handle Cities: Skylines on my laptop, it looked unlikely. However, I’m not a big gamer, hence not interested in spending more on a better computer, so I decided to try it on my new laptop. The other threads were quite old, so decided to share my experience just in case it helped somebody.

When playing, I keep my laptop plugged in and the power settings on high performance, I use the HP command center to set the temperature to balanced. It does put some pressure on the fan, but nothing that concerns me. Now, I enjoy the planning, the traffic management, and financial challenges, which means that I don’t add free park benches, or do a lot of detailing - if it looks good from a bird's eye view, and has a good land value, it's good with me. This means that settings or modes that are purely visual aren’t a priority, so something might be toggled off that I don't remember off the top of my head.

OS: Windows 10
Processor: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz
Memory: 16GB
Graphics: Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics
It has an NVMe Western Digital SSD.

If someone has different experiences, I’m sure there are still people out there who, like me, think this game looks interesting and are trying to figure out if they can play it, so please add on info. If you have questions, I’ll do my best to answer them.

This was just an FYI post.

Take care and stay safe,
- Posh
