Forgive me for saying, but military does not equal terrorism. Like it or not, at least in my country, military is mostly respected as honorable people. I myself served over 20 years. Besides, it was just a question and a descent suggestion.
for the looks?
well military exists so people may want to picture that.
hey, that would be funny. Syria Special Forces DLC.
Eh?
Another DLC would be fine. Still...
We're years overdue for a game that will compete with Skylines. If they rest on their laurels too long, competition WILL eventually show up.
By all means dont buy the DLC I am recommending then. Im sorry you feel so passionately about something that you know little about. I have been to those places and been in the military myself. You clearly dont understand what positive things the United States military personnel have accomplished around the world. This is a game forum, not a place for you to push your utopia of a world where everyone gets along that just cannot exist because human nature involves conflict. I know you dont like that but its true. I am proud of the fact I have defended my nation from those that would murder my family. I am even proud of the fact that I have even defended your right to not understand that dedication I have to a free people. Please leave your politics out of this forum tho, I only made a recommendation for a DLC that I think a lot of people would enjoy.
There are a plethora of Steam games which glofify organised mass murder for profit; go play one of those. Stop bringing your death cultism in to CSL.
Finally, do not ever attempt to gaslight me in to thinking the military fights for anyone's freedom; if that were the case the world would be free by now (militarists have been murdering people for millennia, it's clearly not working), rather than sliding in to authoritarianism in every country worldwide.
I was trying to think of any other areas of human societal land use that the game does not feature other than the military, but couldn't think of any. So it would be an interesting addition. A bit niche, as it's not something that would be useful for every city, but one could say the same about the Snowfall and Natural Disasters DLCs.
Until everyone in the world - both states and non-states - renounce warfare, and surveillance is capable of ensuring that these promises are kept, then I'm afraid that a military is necessary.
But calling any soldier a terrorist? Leave your dream bubble, and look what happens when there is no military and real terrorists appear. Do I like the fact that military is needed? No, I don’t. But I know that it would be way worse without any. BTW I was a soldier some time ago. Will you call me a terrorist now?
personal cars with combustion engines, landfills, incinerators, coal/oil power plants, desasters, and many more
all of them "does not, can not, and will not _ever_ solve any of the existential threats our planet faces."
I don't see how that can be a criteria to be in this game.
hey, one of my last projects was a highway construction site, doesn't mean I like the traffic jam a construction site produces or that I think it helps with anything more than repairing the highway.
my screenshots of that project got way more attention than usual, seems I hit a topic people can relate to or are emotional about.

people like to depict what they see or have seen.
I can totally understand why someone who "served over 20 years" wants to build a military base, they probably spent alot of time looking at military bases from the inside.
hey even pacifist me may have fun decorating a base... big technical equipment and a clearly planed grid allways make for a focal point one can decorate around.
military is real and I am a detailer I like to make my cities look real.
