How do you build bridges over canals.
Every time I try to build a bridge over a canal it makes it into a bridge but when I click to place it down it says "space occupied" also is there a way to build a bridge without the support column in the middle of it. btw I am playing just vanilla skylines

Try building the actual bridge part first and elevate it slightly. This should at least stop it from trying to make a pillar in the middle of the canal.

You need to increase the height of the road at least slights to make a bridge, and bring it as close to the canal as you can. Then, if it is possible, the next segment should fit over top of the canal if you make the next end right on the other side of the canal (and elevated).

I tried both those things but it won't let me do it. I figured another way "cursed" you might say I eneded up using the move it tool mod and now I have a paper thin road as a brigde

Create the ramp to the bridge and place the pier for the bridge just short of the canal. Draw the bridge over the canal and place another pier on the other side. Draw the ramp from the bridge back to the ground then continue on with your road. You can see in how I did it in canal 1[www.whiteknight77.net] and canal 2[www.whiteknight77.net].
