Missing Content
Today I purchased/activated Airports DLC, and 4 content creator packs (including the map pack). Steam has these items existing in my library and when I start Cities up, all these items have a green tick beside them. In-game, I can only see Airports. No creator content exists anywhere. No extra maps,

Any suggestions?

Steam support is beyond f***ed as they wash their hands of it at the start and just provide links to external parties, or these forums.

Go to your DLC page on the games properties pane in Steam. Un-tick the creator packs, wait 2 mins, then tick them again. This will make steam re-download any data that might be missing.

Validate your C:S game files in steam

I re-installed. It did not help.

Go into the game properties and ensure that your DLC is stated to be installed.

DLC is off, is on, is disabled, re-enabled, skylines is removed, re-installed and ...NOTHING. As far as I can see this is a STEAM problem as it is the platform which controls the install/remove/recognise of the software, but getting help out of global companies once they reach a certain level of 'f**k you' is impossible.

Even paradox seem to say "f**k you, use the forums" and foist problems off onto the community.

Do the maps from the Map Pack show up on the list at all when you go to start a new city? They should still be on the list if the game doesn't recognize the DLC as owned, they will just be at the bottom and greyed out.

No. But when I activated them via steam I did note "failed to install content creator pack xxx - app configuration unavailable" for each one. This seems to me to be a steam/valve problem. Products activated but not installed.

I have the exact same problem. Bought a set of DLC last night, still can't access them now and it's been about 12 hours since I bought them. Tried to start a new game on one of the DLC maps and it won't let me.

I bought Airports last week and that installed just fine. Right now it seems Steam is having issues authenticating/installing DLC for some reason.

Best to contact Steam Support then. They'd be the ones to help resolve.

Contact HOW? There is no apparent direct connection between any problem and valve/steam. Support just ends up linking me to an email address for Paradox...and even they are auto-telling me to use the forums! If any being in this dimension or any other can contact someone in a global corporation I'd be amazed.

This is probably the case, but just to be sure you did buy the DLC through Steam right?

No. I have bought nothing for skylines from Steam and never had any problems. In fact, I have never had any problems with any steam keys purchased via 3rd-parties.

I had the same issue when I first bought it - I bought the base game plus After Dark and Park Life; one showed up the other gave me the error about not installing.

I believe I solved it by quitting Steam, deleting "game_data.json" and ".launcher-cache" from my ".local/share/Colossal Order/Cities Skylines" directory, and re-starting. (This is on Linux - I believe the path for you would be "AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines")

At the top of the Steam client select Help and then Steam Support. You can also go here and make a ticket.
