Change Roadside Trees

Am I missing something? I have seen Overcharged Egg replace trees on roads and I cannot seem to see how to do it with either the road tab or the tree tab. Is this something that we get to do if we have the Airports DLC or did that come with the free patch that added new trees?

As far as i know this came lately into the game (not sure if its vanilla or mod related) but just choose the tree in the menu you like and then click on the road an viola different tree on the road.

You can only change the trees on roads that come with trees.

Yes, this is a new option with the most recent patch. It's not mod related; it allows you to change the type of tree on any road with trees. I've tried it with vanilla tree assets and it works beautifully (I don't have any trees from the workshop so haven't tried that). Just choose the trees you like, click on the road segment and your preferred tree will magically replace what's there.

You can also use the Prop Line Tool mod and the Prop Anarchy mod to accomplish this on any road. Useful for areas where only a smaller road is needed.

I tried this with the 2 lane road with trees and it did not change, but placed the trees under the road, which I found after bulldozing the road.

I heard someone say Network Skins 2 can cause issues. Try testing without it (assuming you are using it, otherwise idk).

Perhaps it's not working because your road is from the workshop.
Possibly a mod conflict as well.

Very likely a mod interferring. Do you have any tree anarchy mods installed which might affect tree placement?

check your tree mod options, one of the treemods recently got an update where you can toggle between the new tree replace mode and the old just place a tree mode.

That is not a road from the workshop, but a vanilla road that came with the base game.

No tree anarchy unless you consider Extra Landscaping Tools an anarchy mod.
