Since the update/expansion I’ve got problems! What do I do? [Short FAQ]

Disabled your mods but still got issues?
Disable all mods and custom content and restart the game. If the problem still persist, follow step below.

Disabling isn't always enough as they are still installed and can have an effect on other files. What's recommended is as follows:
- Go to your Cities: Skylines install location [example: X:\Program Files (x86)\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines]
- Backup the folder contents in a zip file or seperate location
- Delete all loose files EXCEPT the Cities.exe [I.e delete files only, not the folders.]
- Right-click Cities: Skylines in Steam and enter Properties
- In properties go to "Local Files" and click Verify Integrity of Local Game Files, this will recreate a new, clean Steam_api necessary to run the game
- Launch game, this will recreate clean versions of the previously deleted files

Disabling assets? Since when has that ever been necessary after an update?

Things can affect other things, but having an effect on something is a different word.

I tried disabling and deleting all my mods and the rest of the instructions above but my cities skylines game has a problem with crashing on launch still

Did you try the last step of deleting the addon folder?
If so it might be worth checking that all your drivers are up to date!

Also my computer should have at least the mininum requirements to run this game
considering Ive been playing it for months now and its just now had a problem

All scenes and assets are failing to load on map start cusing my saves to be unusable. I have moved install locations, enabled write permissions, changed download region (causes workshop content to be checked), subscribed to new assets and enabled them (also failed), and verified integrity of game cache, tried the above instructions to reset the addon folder as well, etc. Nothing has worked and I believe this to be a bug in the game. Also my game worked prior to the update. Can provide logs if necessary but post was too long to post with them.

Someone on reddit suggested that the assets-not-loading was somehow caused by the loading screen mod, sounds strange but if you went through the above steps I suppose that would have worked around it.. :/

--Disablemods --noWorkshop in start parameters will start the game in vanilla mode. Worked for me.

Loading screen mod doesn't work with current game version just yet. That prevents lot of stuff from loading. Also most of the other mods are busted at the moment, but i'm sure they'll be fixed within next few days.

Note this has nothing to do with mods. It's assets and scenes. The mods are actually loading correctly just not the assets.
