Unrealistic amount of cims waiting for blimps.
They keep pouring in. Used a mod to increase the amount of passengers blimps can carry but they keep pouring into the stops. Does it mean I need more stops or more blimps?

This will limit the max amount people waiting at stops

@LeonardMT Thanks a bunch!

Thanks Leonard. I've just subbed and'll be giving that mod a try, too.

I stopped using helicopters because of this issue.

Haven't used S&S mod but I will Sub... Blimps are only useful as eye candy and once you back off enough to watch them you can no longer see the idiots waiting to ride so just ignore them, Unless S&S does work. :)

EDIT; S&S So Far So Good. No Conflicts, no issues, works and plays with others quite well and as advertised. I Like it.... 👍

It sounds like you've already got something like Improved Public Transport, a 'vanilla' fix would be to provide your Cims a faster method to go between stops, such as a Metro.

I think their AI will prioritise taking public transport over walking, and possibly will prioritise flight since it doesn't cause traffic, but I'm not sure if that means they'd choose air over rail or sea though...

Quite Right. Simply rerouting present transportation service to match perspective passenger destinations can often have a huge impact on existing crowds. Always attempt to remain open to alternative solutions to any given situation.

hmmm maybe it was a good thing to have too many cims waiting for the blimp. My traffic flow increased 30% after enabling this mod! Went from 75% to 45%. Turned off the mod and after a while...back to 75%. Oh well. I will just ignore all those folks waiting LOL!

Get your cims to walk. They will walk almost 2 tiles across the map if you give them the ability to do so.

This is CS..... If you can perfect the art of ignoring things that happen in this game it will save you a lot of aggravation. I need to get a lot better at it myself. btw Good information on the mod. Thanks Did you check all the options ? When I tested I only checked for "BUS" no others.
Would and or will check for myself but I'm deep into another project at the moment.

The issue is that the blimp sounds like it's the only transit option to get to that destination. You need another form of transport. One that is not so slow and meant for tourist as a city transit option.
Blimps are very slow and for that reason I would try to make sure the blimp route is not part of my main transit system. I wouldn't use them as a "main transit" option rather a tourist sight seeing adventure thing. That is I would make it a novelty or leisure option. That is a second option to a destination. Like you could take the metro to "Park Bla Bla Bla" or take the blimp. This way some folks will be interested to take the blimp but many will opt for the metro. This way the simulation should run smoother.

Don't ignore things in Cities, things just get worse that way.

Don't mean to get into a watering contest with anyone but I tried setting up that very situation. Had bus, metro and blimp all going to the same two tourist destinations. Taking "MarkJohnson" at his word that everything is set up on a timer and expecting that most people would opt for the much faster metro. To every ones great credit a lot of people did use the metro and fewer took the bus. To my dismay however every time I bothered to check there were a lot more people waiting to get on the blimp than could actually board.

I tried every trick I could think of including the option suggested by Zion, but nothing worked and by now my curiosity was such that I simply could NOT ignore the issue. With no acceptable alternatives forthcoming I was left with only Total Annihilation. I would have much preferred to have been able to simply overlook the persistent crowds

Though I am not a big fan of Blimp travel;
I have a city that I repaired where there is a Blimp line in use. It stops near train stations, metro stations even the elevator and airport not to mention bus stops near by. There are no huge waits for this blimp line.

Try this, the stop or platform all the folks are collecting at find the next destination from it and see if they all get off there. If so move that platform after you find where the traffic is heading. For example: if the majority offing the blimp walks to a metro or other station. then move the platform to a street that is not an easy walk to that "attraction" (station or what ever it is).

While that idea does seem logical it would seem equally logical that if I move the stop over a tile and a half (reported cim walking distance) from it's present location I may as well just remove it all together.

@WhiteKnight
Could you please define the distance of a tile more exact ?
