Game too easy
Whatever I do - I will always make money. I play on hard and tbh I feel no real challenge. Just build, wait until you have the cash and you're settled.

Yes, I agree, even with infinite money I still have most of the time a healthy profit without even trying lol.

But the point of the game is to build stuff, it would be a bore to most people if it took forever to save money to keep on building.

I agree; it's pretty easy to be profitable in his game. However, Cities Skylines is not really an economic game. The real difficulty is the agent/traffic management sim aspect. Many mayors have built profitable cities that then collapsed to traffic or other related problems.

yeah i agree too :)
although they admitted it's more about city designer then being a game.
I'd love both options in the next C:S :D

pay attention to the game clock. There's no penalty or real mechanic for it, but when you take your time like that hundreds of years will pass. Give yourself time limits.

Once I start making profits its easy, but I have also been bankrupt on several occasions and had to spend several hours watching people move in and out with even their most basic needs switched off in order to recover from a $15 million loss!

The only caveat I have with saying the game is easy, is that for most people new to the game its usually significantly challenging to grow large and effective cities. I also find which DLC's you have makes a huge difference. Industries and Campus DLC's make it trivial to bring in BIG money, Your profile is private so I can't see how much time you've put into C:S, But I'll assume this isn't your first city.

At this point in the game I'll jack all services (fire/police/health/education/entertainment/etc) to 150% budget just to help spend the ludicrous amount of money pouring in.

It's not meant to be a win or loose game. It's a simulation meant to test design. If however you absolutely must be challenged try building a stable city with 1.04 million population on a nine tile map. You should fine a few challenges along the way. If that don't get it you might try playing some of the scenario games offered.
Hope you find what you're looking for.
