Nerfing disasters?
Recently, I bought the Distasters DLC, and got a Tsunami (just a little bit of flooding at the port) and an Earthquake. The latter destroyed some roads and bridges, so I quit the game, to next time play with that DLC disabled. I really don't want to have to rebuild my bridge layouts, tweaking the positions of the pillars again, etc.

Is there some way to have nerfed disasters that don't require rebuilding any infrastructure? It is fine if zoned buildings get destroyed (so the Cims can rebuild and relevel themselves), or buildings get into derelict state, from which they can be rebuilt in-place.

Do what I do, I save the city and then destroy stuff, if I am over it, I reload the city and all is good :)

You can keep the DLC enabled. Just disable the disasters in settings.

But, yeah. I never understood disasters in city builders. Who wants to spend dozens to hundreds of hours on a city to only keep fixing it. at a certain point you will be doing nothing but fixing your city, and not growing it. lol

But SimCity finally got disasters right. If you didn't expand your landfill to keep up with collection rates, the game would spawn Godzilla in the middle of your city, then it would march straight to the dump and empty it for you, so you could have an empty landfill again. But he would destroy several buildings on his way there to empty it. lol

Same with other disaster.

Ignore healthcare, and get the zombie apocalypse from the sick turning into zombies, them they all die at sunset. lol

Unemployment getting out of hand? No worries, your unemployed will will live in the parks, then will resort to crime, go to jail if caught, or level up their crime abilities if they escape the police, then if they level up 5 times, they will leave your city and invade your neighbors in MP mode. Then you get hate mail for infecting their beautiful city. lol

You could try Natural Disaster Overhaul which makes tornadoes and earthquakes harmless to your builds.

Disasters have a slider on the bottom left of the screen for "intensity". Lower it to 2 or less and they will be weaker resulting less effect.

Some disasters have lesser area of coverage, it goes without saying that a tsunami in a coastal town will do much more damage than a local tornado or meteor strike.

If you do not want to rebuild you can always reload the save.

Theres a mod called Ragnarok that allows players to alter the different disasters, but I don't know if it still works.

I can't prevent an earthquake. Having to rebuild lot of carefully designed bridges ands roiads is just annoying. I'm fine with all zomned building needing to be rebuilt (and others, such as stations being rebuilt in place, without me having ot figure out the alignment again).
Then I could focus on what to change to reduce casualties next time.

Then when you use mods and fill in the inner 25-tiles of the map, then all you can do is fix disasters the whole time because it takes so much time to fix things. then BAM! 20-seconds after completing all fixes, anther disaster hits and you get to start all of the fixing all over again. and again, and again.

No thank you.
