Report a translation problem
You could have each island contain its own cargo train station for deliveries if that island has commercial and/or industrial areas on it, but that creates the issue with the long bridges. Alternatively you could make them as tunnels, or replace them with cargo harbors.
I just went to the Workshop, selected assets/vehicles and typed "ferry" into the searchbar...

I think OP means a ferry that actually transfers the cars over as well, or a mod to enable this type of feature, as opposed to a ferry that just looks like a car ferry.
But I could be wrong, it’s only an assumption.
So if it actually can take cars and trucks, and sail then across. Then they drive off.
Will I just need to make cargo train stations or the freight boats and deal with it?

Yeah there’s nothing that allows the cars into the ferries to be transported over unfortunately.
