Road with Grass vs Trees
Is there any noticeable difference between these two road types? The tooltip says they basically do the same thing, but Trees cost more. Do they have a greater effect than grass?

Yes! More noise pollution is cut out with trees, but I believe grass should be fine medium sized cities, where trees can be used in more developed large cities (ones that can afford it).

Roads with bike lanes all around. Saves a ton of traffic, which lower noise pollution and (I think) raise land value (maybe not as much as trees but quite enough to reach max building lvl) :)

I use the roads with grass near my industrial areas since the trees will die if you place those roads too close to the areas.

Thanks! It seemed logical but I'd been googling it and people seemed to be debating if it really mattered. Just confirmed it from the Skylines wiki. :)

I'm considering using bikes in future to connect to a public transport network once it's ready. At the moment the town is far too small to have traffic issues. I tend to use Monorails on the 4 lane sections, and I wonder if dedicated cycle paths are worth building instead of the road based ones.

I didn't know the trees could die, Paradox really have implemented a lot of realism!
I don't tend to beautify industrial areas as I don't think it makes any difference, especially with the new industrial roads.

Those tooltips are indeed not much help.
For me, also in a medium sizes city, the grass roads don't take away all noise pollution in a residential zone. So if that's what you are aiming for, then you have to go for the trees. But, I'm having the impression there's another difference: happiness. I believe the roads with trees have a greater contribution to the happiness of your residents.

That would also make sense. Looking forward to getting back into this game a bit.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
