How do you make outside connections?

Fairly new to C:S, loving it a lot. Been downloading and playing some really great maps, love what you guys do, keep it up!!

I recently downloaded a map that has rail and ship connections, but no road connections? I have never seen that yet. Can I make an outside road connection, or does that have to be done by the creator of the map? Thanks

You should have one when starting your city, the very first roads, need to be connected to the highway, If you have done this, once you buy more land, you should be able to connect more roads to the highway, works the same way for outside connections with the train tracks, get the existing track to join up with the origional track that is already their, hope this helps.. and CS is a great game can make/plan anything

no need by creator to do that you can load the map in Editor and add road connections or change what you like to do and save it so you can play with your changes at the map

You can use the mod called "Unlimited Outside Connections". With that mod you can drag both roads and train tracks to outside the map. But you also then need the 81 tiles mod to actually reach the edge of the map. I would recommend them both because it allows you to make more than 2 or 3 road or train connections, making trading with the outside world faster and your traffic will not stall on just one road. Another tip to avoid trains getting stuck at the edge: Use the Move it mod and drag the crossing point (which is also a node) away from the edge of the map. By doing so trains will not hamper each other anymore.

Thanks everyone. I edited the map in the Editor, but it wont save over the old one?? Not sure what's happening there? I'll try it again.

If you use the 81 tiles mod you can create up to 4 outside road/train connections just dragging your roads/railroads to the end of the map. But BE CAREFUL once you reach the end of the map, an entrance/exit is created and you can't move it elsewhere or delete it, so think carefully where exactly you want it. If you want more than 4 connections just use the unlimited outside connections mod that mentioned above

You can remove it with the "Move it" mod, select and delete.
