Yeah, I don't understand the Concerts DLC.
Looks like the associated problems were never fixed.
Anyone who has it probably knows what I mean.

For those not familiar - concerts are a money pit.
Apart from the unpredictability of concert success, the biggest fatal flaw is the weekly costs!
The concert wants to charge 9.000 a week for advertising!! :steamfacepalm: !
In addition, it's 3,000/week for professional equipment and up to 2,000 for security.
So if you left it alone, you'd be spending 14,000 a week to support concerts that give you only around 10,000 every 8 months when they play! You don't need to be good at math to understand how terrible the return of investment is on that.
Not to mention advertising eventually gets negated by a gradual popularity decay for bands, trying to trap you into spending oblivion.

Long story short, these costs need substantial reductions. I don't suppose anyone could mod and resolve this, can they? I'd do it, but unfortunately I lack the skill and don't know where to find a teacher.

I'd like to reduce advertising to something such as 900/week, which is still expensive, but much more manageable. I'd also set security costs to be active only when the concert is playing, and turn off the popularity decay.

I do have them but I guess how you manage it

A) I have at least 4 different mass transport to them

B) it is placed within a leisure park, so all the people are there having a good time

C) it is far away from residents

D) the safety is big

My concerts are every couple of weeks and I can charge more as well

I think it's in a way of a investment. You spend a lot early but once the popularity of bands grows, you can make profits because lot of people will come and pay high ticket prices.

I'd agree with you if the maintenance costs were much lower, but they're far too high. Everything tuned on costs 14,000 a week. Even a successful, large concert that pays high ticket prices won't come close to recovering those expenditures. I wish I could mod it to make that the case.

Last time i played i used the "AD sponsor" option only to the first months, once the bands have a decent popularity you don't need it anymore so you save lot of weekly money.

Well... that's what I thought I would do too. But when I turn advertising off, my bands' popularity drops over time, very fast... is that normal?

I don't know. Honestly i think every DLC just add random stuff without much balance or depth.
Well, okay. I feel like I'm now complaining too much, anyway.

I think it's time I explored how to make mods. Maybe in the future I could create something to adjust costs, fix my popularity decay, and make it easier to figure out success and failure of a concert.
