are there train connections to outside? Check if you are really connected, and like planes and ships no worries, at first they are rare. What train sation are you using. I noticed that sometimes you miss them coming, because you are doing something else. But if you want a lot of trains. Build parks, unique buildings, Hotels... and more population

Do you use a custom map? Some custom maps do have rail connections but are faulty, so trains block each other at the entrance.

I have never seen an intercity train. I'm playing on a non-custom map (Arid Plains, I think). Have 6-track Train Hub (not mod) marked as Allow Intercity. The rail line that supplies all the 1000's of cargo trains, which work perfectly fine except there is a lot of them, is connected to one of the platforms in this hub and terminates there. All other platforms are used for local trains services - which works just fine.

But, in over 80 years of the life of this city I have never seen an intercity train.

I have all DLC's except Sunset Harbour.

To be frank, I don't really miss these trains as I have a well functioning air and sea port, but I'd be interested why there has never been an external train to this station.

Yeah so its funny and maybe a bug but that big train station only saw 1 train ever in my city. Try a smaller train station maybe more to the edge of the map idk if that helps. But they should come after a while.

My game is just like yours AngerlsAnEnergy. All other things working fine. I think it most be a bug then

Yep, its a bug with that Train Hub, I think.

I replaced it with the standard trains station. Marked it to allow Intercity and within minutes a train arrived. Pretty soon I had many intercity trains. So, now I proved that the trainline is working to outside (already knew it for cargo), I put the 6 track train hub back and there were no more intercity trains. There were 2 trains inbound when I deleted the ordinary station to replace with hub, they arrived at the hub, didn't stop, turned around and left .

I then placed another ordinary train station somewhere else on the map and allowed intercity and there be trains :)

So, I conclude that the 6 track Train Hub is broken in some way.

Can someone report that??
You have to connect all train tracks from the hub to the be able to see what track wants to be used for intercities. Has always been like that.

Wait, so is the track that gets the intercity connection always random when you place the building, or is it random each time a train is due to be sent to the station?

It always random when you place the building.

Thanks for the clarification about the randomness of these intercity connections. I had no idea.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1200365784 e.g. "The first Intercity station to connect to an outside connection will cause that connection to spawn external passengers for the duration of the game. It is the nominated passenger line.
Any other outside connection will never spawn passenger trains."

I found that the multi platform terminal wasnt spawning any trains.

SOLUTION - move the station to another location. pause the game. move the station abck to the location you desire. re connect the tracks (you probably had to delete a portion of 0them when moving the station back). Unpause the game. Trains will flow in from off the map
