Garbage not being picked up

Hello,
Does anyone know what garbage building or garbage mod that works like it is supposed to? When we place a garbage building, we get a green road saying it is covered, but it is not . The buildings never sends out the needed trucks for the colored green area roads. I have been playing for over 2 years, on and off, and can never seem to have all the garbage picked up. I even increased the budget for garbage and still have problems. The land is polluted, people move out and trees die off. This is so frustrating. Love the game otherwise.

All the garbage assets work as intended, there is something amiss. There are a couple things that could be doing this to you. One issue is the 81 Tile mod, it bugs out the vehicles.

The other is if traffic flow is slow then trash will collect more at an address causing the trucks to fill from fewer addresses.

Are the garbage trucks despawning the instant they're sent out? If they are, that means they're trying to reach a destination that can't be driven to. There's four causes of that: First is that you made an area with one-way roads leading out, but nothing leading in. Second is that you made it to where no vehicles can turn into an area. This is typically done using the turn arrows in TMPE, but I'm fairly sure that's not the only way it can be done. Third is that there's an area not connected by road with the area(s) your garbage services are located. Service vehicles can't take trains or ferries, so they'll need direct road access. Lastly broken nodes can cause issues with vehicles not being sent out in some cases. For that you'll have to subscribe to one of the broken node detector mods.

If the problem is just that no vehicles are being sent out, then I can only suggest that you try placing it in another spot. I've only ever had this issue once, and that's how I fixed it. If that doesn't help, then we'll need more information to help you, like what mods you're using, a game save uploaded to the Workshop, ect.

Part of the issue you're having is how the game mechanic works. When placing a garbage building, the green road area is where gets the "benefit" of having a service building, but the garbage trucks can be sent to anywhere in the city that needs pickup - not just that green road area. So you might not see it go to the local neighborhood at all.

Thank you for your help and comments. Blessings to all of you trying to help! I really appreciate it! I do have 81 tile mod, plus other mods to work how I like to play the game. No dead end roads and the traffic flow is very good in most places. The garbage trucks that are sent out, only go a short distance. Not enough trucks are sent out even though the garbage building says it has many trucks available. Only 1 or 2 are sent out. Many times, the garbage building turns itself off and on, not sure why. I have never uploaded a game save to the workshop, as I'm not sure how to do that and I will look into how that is done. Thank you !

Go to Content Manager/Saves in game.
Select the save you wish to share and check the 'Share' box.
This will upload it to your Profile/Workshop.
Once it is there, select it and copy/paste the URL to it here.

i've noticed the "old town" policy messes with the new garbage trucks

Make sure you don't have a district service mod as they stop service vehicles from leaving your your district to help on collection.

Make sure you have a little excess services. Don't go by the global capacity/consumption or you'll have shortages. Spread them out as evenly as possible. Garbage stations are harder to do this, but it helps.

But as already been said, share your save so we can see your city in motion and pinpoint issues more easily. It is also a much quicker resolution.

I opened the save or tried to, the theme was missing.
Anyway, some things to check into; garbage snake and garbage truck, remove those and test. Perhaps these assets are not playing nice.

Hello, I've never applied a theme and did not know we needed to do that. The problem with garbage has been happening since before I started using the garbage snake and the garbage truck, but I will disable them, just in case they are part of the problem. Thank you for your help!

For some reason this happens a lot with garbage and hearses. The reason is almost always the same: A wonky road that makes them dispawn before being sent out.

Basically if you click on your garbage collection facility and the number of trucks tick between 1 and 0 constantly that means the trucks cannot enter the road. Something is wrong.

I had this problem myself and it turns out I had manually set the turning arrows (with the traffic manager mod) on the road so that they pointed the wrong way into a one way road.

yes, disable them and test. If for no other reason to remove them from the questionable list.

In the first set of 9 screenshots it is claimed insultingly, "I don't need to spell out what's happening here because you have eyes" then states the garbage truck was filled by four homes. My eyes count 10 homes to fill that truck. For a garbage truck collects trash from both sides of the street at the same time on a two lane bi-directional road. Don't believe? look for yourself the last shot of the 9, ten homes are bright blue with most of them being 4x4 lots. They had their trash removed. And this is at the beginning of this guide. The guide is incorrect as informative as it may seem.
