81 Tiles or 25 Tiles Mod?
Hi, because of i don't know how much space i actually need and allways tend for bigger i wanted to install the 81 Tiles Mod but the describtion says that i have to use some kind of a cheat to enable the mod while the 25 Tile mod doesn't.

And can i enable and use both of them at the same time?

IMO, ask yourself do you really need more than 25 tiles? (I've also read that 81 tiles can lead to poor performance...)

I have no idea at the moment no in the future in progressing game perhabs.

Can i actually switch between 25 and 81 tiles anytime i want and is something between 25 and 81 tiles like 40 or 50?

Don't worry about that, go to use 81 tiles.

The most people think more mod will heavy drop your performance. In fact, that's becuase they don't realy tested by themselves.

I tested all mods from steam which whole 48 pages, and I picked up 220 mods can work togather at same time with last DLC. And I also use a notebook buy from 2014 for test only, and no too much low performance. For now, I enabled 195 mods at same time.

So, if your computer got powerful or more powerful than me, why you worry about drop performance?

When you loading a map, in fact, you have been loaded the whole map, and be limited the building area by title, and the mod just clear the limited and let you can use the whole map. That's it.

I like the 81 tiles because I don't build big cities but I bunch of little ones all connected. Like one small city with have mostly houses and commercial but then the city next to it will have some houses and industry. I like watching all the transit.

No. You might get away with switching from 25 to 81, but others have said in the past that deactivating 81 Tiles tends to cause issues with their game. Also you can't have both active at the same time without issues either.

81 tiles mod is fine, but I leave a 1-tile border around the edge (7x7 instead of 9x9, so 49 tiles...)

The main reason for this is it can cause issues with performance at the edge, but it also looks pretty weird if you build out that far. Imagine looking out of your window and seeing a void of nothingness (the space around the map)... hence the 1-tile buffer zone.

Using any mods will disable achievements, so you need this (ironically a mod itself);

As others have said 81 tiles is fine, or at least as fine as your PC can handle. You obviously can't possibly fill every tile and still have a working City unless you have some beast of a computer. How ever if you want to fill roughly the same amount of space a 25 tile city would, with just more space between sections 81 works good.

From all testing I have done the size of the map used isn't the issue so much as your population and the number of moving entities. So even a default 12 tile game can slow down or crash if you have like 400k population. Mean while if you spread out 100k or so across 81 tiles it runs fine.

I'll stay with 25 tiles but when i want to move to 81 tiles i just need to install that mod and deinstall the 25 tiles mod right?

I'm sure 25-tiles is more than enough. Once you exceed 25 relatively full, you will usually start hitting game limits anyway.

FYI, once you unlock the 25-tiles you can unsubscribe to it as the inner 25-tiles are meant to be unlocked, so they stay unlocked if you remove the mod.

81-tiles mod is required at all times and your outer zones will dezone if you remove the mod. Also, there are some known issues using 81-tiles, but I don't recall as I have never had the need to go that big.

But you can enable the 81-tile mod at any time, but if you remove it you will have missing stuff in the outer tiles of your city.

I've made a 500k pop city with 9 tiles, 25-tiles is more than enough

I like building dense metropolitan areas so 81 Tiles is nothing that I'll ever need. Plus my PC prob couldn't handle it all anyway.

Not everybody wants to cram everything into 9 tiles like that though, very boring.
