FISH FACTORY
made a fish factory and no matter what i do there is no demand for it and it sits full! kinda useless to have fish farms and stuff if your fish factory wont sell anything

Same problem here. The farms readily distribute fish to it, the cargo hubs, and to the fish market but it once fish delivered and stored in the factory, it just sits there. Obviously, it needs to be tweaked/updated.

A year later and it's still broken.

Fish factory don't have much internal storage. It needs help emptying. Its same with any industry. Your trucks are sent far and beyond.. and the internal storage fills up.

Add a storage for unique factory item and set it to empty or balanced. Your trucks will in .. most cases chose to go to the storage and not.. the other side of town or exporting.

The storage will handle distribution and your factory won't be full.

Get a warehouse that stores "Zoned Industry - Goods". You can set it to "Empty" and it will always be exporting your goods for some money (not as much as Unique factory products). Watch the truck count and build a bigger warehouse if the trucks can't keep up. If you set it to "Balanced", it will export or deliver to your commercial buildings as needed.

Oh right .. yeah I forgot its not unique factory items. Its goods. Been so long since I set mine up : )
Daveroski Mar 21, 2021 @ 9:42am
The fish factory outputs Commercial Zoned Goods.
The warehouses have the Commercial Zoned Goods option but no trucks go between the fish factory and the warehouse.
The fish factory becomes full and just sits there moaning about no one wan'ting it;'s stinky fish in oily brine and none of it's 30 trucks go anywhere.
I did see a doughnut van belonging to the fish factory once making it seem like it only sells to Low density commercial zones food shops.
The warehouse doesn't use any of it's trucks when using the Commercial Zoned Goods option. The Fill level goes up and down from second to second from 0 to 8 % the trucks-out number flashes from 0 to 1 and back again.
It's knackered.

Or your road connectivity sucks...because it works just fine here.

9 times outta 10 someone in this forum complains the game is broken somehow, they show us the their map and their roads look like like weird garbage.

hmm.. so no trucks are sent ?

Have you checked pathing? Can the trucks leave to get to where they should go?

Maybe you forgot a TMPE restriction or banned trucks in a policy somewhere.

And as usual the fanboy blames the user.. Every time. Not just 9 out of 10. The fanboy blames the user. Says theirs works. when it clearly doesn't. A bug doesn't work for ANYBODY. Before I got the DLC I had cities with over 200,000 people in them before I got bored with that map and started another. So please don't pretend you know something I don't.

It's a straight road to the motorway. I have checked it, deleted it and rebuilt it.
TMPE hasn't touched it.
I checked if I might have done something wrong before I came to the forum because most of the residents are so full of themselves they make me cringe.
I searched first and found a year old post with two people with the same problem and no other comments. Seems proof enough to me that something is wrong with it.
I even deleted my zoned industry to try to make sure that the Fish Factory had someone to sell to. It sent a token doughnut van out then nothing. All the commercial started complaining about not having anything to sell and this factory still had a full load of canned fish.

That's a sign that there's something wrong with your road network. Your fish factory is answering a call for goods and spawns a truck. But the truck can't find a route to the destination because something along the way is broken so it despawns. Check the following:

All areas of the map are connected by road to each other. Trucks can take trains to isolated areas, but service vehicles can't so if you have (for example) an island community whose only means of leaving the island is by ferry and you placed it's own services on the island, any commercial zones on the island will still be calling for orders from off of the island.

Similar to above, make sure any isolated areas that are connected by road aren't blocked by one-way roads that lead out, but no roads lead into the area.

If you're using TMPE (or any other traffic managing mod) ensure that vehicles can eventually turn into areas they need to go to. It's easy to break an intersection with either the lane arrows tool or the lane connector tools (especially this one) and not realize it right away. Double-check your roundabouts. If you had one for a 3-way intersection and used the TMPE quick setup for the roundabout one of the nodes in it was told to not allow lane changing. If you later added an intersection there the lane connectors aren't removed so vehicles moving through the roundabout will never turn onto the new road.

If you've checked everything and you're still getting the flashing vehicle counter then subscribe to and run one of the broken node detector mods. Keep in mind sometimes the building is the broken node, and moving it (even slightly) will fix it. I've done that in some of my own games. Use the in-game means to move a building, and not the Move It mod. From what I've read here it tends to cause buildings to break like that.

I usually check pathing with a bus line. Just try to make a line with a start outside of the location and to it and out again. It can be a broken node or something like that. It happens.

Otherwise.. I'm not really sure. It's something I have never had an issue with ( I have several working with no warehouse for goods). Which leads me to believe something has gone wrong.

Maybe a mod issue, I'd honestly need to try your save.

Oh btw I almost forgot.. how many fish manufacturers are delivering fish to it. It might get too much too fast. The fishery delivers a surprising amount of fish. It will fill up the internal storage very fast. I have like .. uhm .. 5 or 6 to handle just a few fisheries. It surprised me a lot.

If you had read my last post. The one above yours. You wouldn't have had much to say at all.

And filling it up quickly would be a problem because....?

Would you beleve it if you had a city where there were no issues with the fish factory and another where there was? I have seen that in one city, my fish factory has no issues with getting its commercial goods out, but I also have commercial goods warehouses nearby to take said goods.

The game works how you build it. If you create a bad road network, you will have issues. That isn't a bug.
