When it comes to designated turn only lanes it will depend on what piece you use on either side of the intersection.
Screenshot: Bottom half of screenshot
From left to right is a two lane, two way street. The intersecting street south of the two way are all 6 lanes and the focus here. Different pieces on the other side produces different lane assignments. Actually all the piece types all the way around the intersection are taken into consideration when lane assignments are made by the game. The screenshot I show only a few combinations. Hope this makes sense. Intersections are the secret to getting heavy thick traffic though an intersection.

I was checking what you said but it doesn't apply to what I want.
I have a highway two lane road with a highway ramp coming from the right. I want to deny a left turn to the cars who come from the ramp, because they cause a lot of traffic obstruction. The example you gave is good for downtown road placements.

None of them will turn left after the bridge for I made sure to do so would be the long way.
What? Everyone is what? I have Never told (or will tell) anyone to use a mod to correct traffic issues. I do what I can to help people understand the traffic mechanics…(A.I.)
oh, you mean like this?

it is only wonky because you dont Realize that the creation of the traffic infrastructure is a major part of the game. So there for you end up going for mods which will doom you in the end base on how much you take the traffic for granted.
That way there should be much fewer points where the routes of vehicles cross and force some of them to stop.
I do not have a picture right now, but I hope that it is understandable.
Best just look and watch your traffic and find the kinks in it. It can be done without mods, just takes some ingenuity. You got this
But thank you all for the ideas ;)
I think you missed one detail in the question. Let's take your bridge screenshot:
At the right, the markings on the road show that traffic can turn right or left. What can you do (in vanilla) to prevent left turn? I'm afraid the answer is: nothing.
The roadwork on the left or west side of the bridge is important. The chunk of road leading to the straight and slip exit is highway piece speed limit 100. The slip is 80 like I said before, the straight two lane is highway speed limit "100" then the six lane 60. Because of speed limit control I have insured no vehicles will turn left at the point you ask. They will not turn left there because it is much quicker to drive straight rather than taking the slip road. NOW, if that two lane highway piece I used was a two lane street at a speed limit of 40 and I carried the two lane all the way to the intersection. The the agents would see the slip road as a quicker route then taking the through street.
The reason I used this screenshot as an example IS because they use to turn left at the place you questioned because I was using the slower road piece for through traffic. This roadwork instilled in me the quickest route rule. This screenshot works in vanilla because "Network Extension" does not change any rules it only varies the lanes, It follows vanilla rules!
If you wish to speak more on this start a thread.
This screenshot is in my main city and if you wish I can show this area and show no one will turn. Well I guess emergency vehicles may turn there, possibly.
