Put sound barriers on your Highways Put parks and clinics near the affected area and have trees lots of trees hope this helps

Be aware of what causes noise pollution. You can use the noise pollution overlay to see the radius of effect. Keep your residential zones away from them.
Commercial is a noise polluter for example, therefore you should avoid zoning residential adjacent to commercial. Offices do not pollute and so they can be a useful buffer zone between commercial and residential.
As for the advice above, trees are not a solution, but upgrading streets to tree lined streets does have a positive effect. Also placing parks have no effect other than providing a distance buffer and placing clinics only help to deal with the sypmtom and do not not deal with the cause.

Subway stations are a huge culprit, as are High Density, Tourism, and Leisure Commercial. Only real solution is just to create a buffer zone between them and your residential areas.

All commercial are noise polluters and since they all have freight deliveries, they also create a lot of traffic noise. Therefore you shouldn't just keep them separate from residential, you also have to keep the delivery routes to them free of residential too.

Yes, but not as much. Never had a problem with Low Density Commercial, ever.

Keep in mind that I rarely ever put them side by side with a residential plot. Usually I have at minimum two squares of separation, or put it across the street. Even a two-lane road is enough of a gap. Never had an issue.

Yes, I am aware that low density commercial has a weaker noise pollution radius of effect, but I expected you to think of this which is why I pointed out that they will still be a problem due to the delivery traffic noise. So, simply zoning residential across the street is not really a sensible solution ;)

Another thing, leisure and tourism are low density not high, but create more noise than low density retail. Even if you zone leisure and tourism with high density zoning, all buildings will read as low density. This is in the "after dark" patch notes so read them before disagreeing with me.

Yeah I wish someone made a workshop mod to fix unrealistic sound sickness.
