What do you guys fill your roundabouts with?
I made a new city with roundabouts in mind and have about a dozen of them, some of them fairly large, and don't know what to put in the centers. Since they're round I can't put a unique building or park, and all the props in game and on the workshop are too small. I can only fit so many rocks and trees in them before it gets boring, so was curious what you all do.

There's statues that you can place in them...I mostly leave the grass and just put a few trees, or on very small roundabouts I'll concrete over the middle. I guess if it's an especially large one, you could tunnel underneath and put a factory or service building in the middle?

Totally up to you what you put there, just don't hinder the roundabout traffic in any way. What you should never have is a building entrance directly on a roundabout, the traffic can't be stopping there, this is why you tunnel under from a neighbouring street or roundabout.
I either place a water tower, a wind turbine or just brush a small wooded area in them.

This is a little unique building in a tiny roundabout . l placed it beside and used the Move lt copy function to put the copy in there and deleted the original

Maybe this can help too

@BucketBrain:

On your screenshot, you're doing roundabouts incorrectly. A roundabout SHOULD ONLY go in one direction NOT in both.

Relax , it will be a turning point of a tram line and l don´t plan to generate much traffic there

I never place any buildings inside a roundabout.
Firstly, I don't want pedestrians crossing a fast moving one way road on foot and I don't want any delivery traffic parking there, blocking traffic.
Secondly, I think like a motorist and ask myself what I don't want to see, namely any tall structure that will impede my view beyond the central island. I want a clear view of who is entering the roundabout in order to know who has right of way. Anyone on the roundabout has right of way and anyone waiting to get on, must stop and give way.
So... that leaves flower arrangements, small bushes, shrubs or short rocks and gravel... nothing else ;)

I use the roundabouts for my garbage incinerators, since they are so big, and you can't build closely to them very well. I have them scattered around the city for better pickup.

They work great!

I make my roundabouts into parks.

I made a nice-looking pedestrian overpass to get across highways and railways.

Granted it's not the most efficient use of the space, but I think its aesthetic value outweighs its large footprint.

Of course, it can get a little out of control...

Alright, thanks, some good ideas here. For moving a building into one using Move It, how do you deal with it not having road access? Or does it still count even though the building is square and the road is circle?

One more thing: if you DO decide to go for the more compact pedestrian overpasses with very steep ramps - use the "gravel" walkway option for the risers and descenders. It makes them look like steps rather than smooth ramps- which I think looks better.

It will count as connected even if you move it 1 square away from roads . The pic above shows a 4x4 building . The seats and hedges are props , placed between the road and the building

For very small roundabouts, I've just not been bothering and using auto-setup TMPE lights in v11. Especially if you just make everything T junctions instead of 4-ways.

I like this plan. Makes me feel less bad about making a gigantic roundabout.

Who'd've thunk I would agree with you some day?

Just tried this out; it seems to work really quite well with a Dogbone:
