Also keep industry near harbours and highways so they don't trudge through your city.
Maybe post your save game so we can advise you on whats the best way to address your traffic problems.

Actually is more of a zoning simulator. Each building you put down creates traffic. Your biggest goal is to lay them out in proportions it keeps traffic low.
Roads and public transportation are useful tools to get cims around if you intend them to be out of balance for aesthetics.
I did have a few of those mods and have since deleted them. The city still loses all of its roads when I load it up so I guess I'm back to square one. Thanks for that information though.
You will have much quicker results if you post your saved game and we can see for ourselves. Otherwise we can only guess.
If roads are vanishing, then you have a road mod missing. Network Extensions Project. Replace it with Network Extensions 2. That should have been on the list.
But things vanishing means they are missing.
In any city the one thing that is always happening is road work. Roads are always changing as the city changes and grows. In CitiesSkylines the traffic is certainly not and never has been broken. Thanks from YouTube and mods most people don't realize or don't wish to that traffic network management is the base, the heart of this game. And what grows from it is a beautiful city.
