No Outside Passenger Trains Arriving
I have a passenger train station and a cargo train station connected to the only rail line that leads out of my city. The cargo station is getting traffic going in and out of the city. In a previous game I had both passengers and cargo going in and out of the city. However in this city I'm not getting any passenger trains coming into the city, and none are leaving the train station despite there being passengers waiting on the platform. The passenger train station is connected to the main line correctly and the box for allowing outside trains is checked. I demolished and rebuilt it once but I still have the same problem.

It could explain the problems and oddities you are seeing. It has explained some of mine - For example, it talks about how the first station is the one that is used for spawning - which would explain why your system worked when you built the station first.

left on both pictures a comment. I have the feeling it is a mod or did you ban passenger trains on that track with TMPE?

The only other option I could think of is a mod conflict. Do you have a similar mod twice?

You have your trains a long ways away from their destinations. They work best inside business districts where they usually go.

Make sure your tracks are connected properly. Sometimes they look connected, but aren't. This happens a lot. The game doesn't mark them as disconnect for reason. Probably because train tracks are dead ends a lot in real life?

TMPE traffic setting have freight banned on that section of track, and the freight section has passenger trains banned. However that was after I had demolished and rebuilt the station and track the first time, so I was having no passenger trains spawning before the bans and after them.

As I discovered tonight, you have to zoom right in so you can see all four metal tracks and slowly travel along the track making sure those are continuous. If the tracks connect at a bad angle, the ballast part connects fine, but the metal rails either come to a dead end, or sometimes connect join together on the wrong side.

So I went back to a save prior to me building any train stations, and this time I made the outside connection with the vanilla station first. Once again I saw people going to it and waiting, so I decided to build the freight station to allow some time to pass. After building that and connecting it to the main line I went to check on a couple other things , came back to it and saw freight trains on the line. I then went back to the passenger station and saw it was empty of people. I then followed the tracks out and spotted a passenger train leaving town. Don't know why it seems to work if I build the outside station first, but it does. I'll rebuild my inner city train routes and check if the outside connection is still working later.

That is helpful. Thanks.

Does one think that if all stations are removed and a central one placed, that it will reset the behaviours and allow intercity passenger trains?

Wouldn't worry much about passenger rail. Use air support to move people in and out of town and use metro to get around town. Use rail for cargo only.
