Underwater Oil Resources
It isn't unusual for there to be oil resources in the middle of a larger river, near river bank or out in a bay or lake.

Realistic for sure but how the heck does one tap that resource? What am I missing?

you need to have the Industries expansion and you will need to use the offshore oil rig assets to drill the underwater oil reserve

Or make a district and make an old fashion oil-based, "generic industry". Here's the solution if you got the Industry DLC https://skylines.paradoxwikis.com/Industrial_specialization, making industrial districts, just like one uses districts for parks, and for specialized zones of residential and commercial too, with the paintbrush tool.

On the other hand, if you don't own Industries DLC , you still can reach there (to oil) by terraforming your map

There are 2 distinct flaws with this. The first one being that the process you’re describing, the one for the old industrial specialization, requires zoned industry which can’t be done because in this scenario the oil is located under a body of water. The second being the link you give takes you to the pre-Industries DLC process. This is the process for doing a specialized industrial area with the Industries DLC https://skylines.paradoxwikis.com/Industry_Areas

Thanks for correcting me, spent several hours on some map guides before I answered a couple of questions and things became a bit mixed up in the head. However I did try to describe the old oil specilization, if he don't have the DLC, that's at least SOMETHING one can do, except in water. But the link was wrong, since I tried to describe the new DLC solution to oil industry. :summer2019city:

Ahhh... I do have industries. Thanks guys.

Then you build offshore oil rig(s) on the underwater fields.

Don’t forget that you have to drag your industrial area out over the oil field or else the off shore rigs will be built right against the shore

I know the confusion too well. It’s easy to mix old specialized industries and the Industries DLC stuff

Thanks for the understanding :)

Btw mixing old and new farming looks realy pretty and don't pollute, except the sewage water.
