Stopping Trains
Ok here's something odd or I'm missing something.

Trains are moving well through my city.

Then after a time a train will just stop right in the middle of the track. Nothing it in front it where it's going. I have to delete that train. The next train will then stop in the same place. I delete it.

Every train stops on the same piece of track.

I delete that piece of track. Lay a new piece in the spot the trains will once again roar through and work fine.

Then this will happen in another place on a line somewhere else. The only way I get a train to pass a point is to delete that piece of track at the spot they stop at.

Not sure if I've missed anything like some sort of repair building because my tracks are wearing out and they go out and fix them?

I looked through every button and found nothing.

Trains are becoming more trouble than they are worth when I'm building somewhere and find my whole rail system as stopped dead somewhere stacking trains for miles because a train will just stop for no reason what so ever.

My city isn't that large only 185,000. 83% traffic. And most times 0% on a rail line somewhere:(

I am not experienced.. but (in the past) i faced a similar problem ( metro train was moving slowly than the others and cargo train stopped or one of them was moving extremely slow) somehow later this "phenomenon" stopped occurring >> i think it is mod issue.
Wiat for some more experienced players who will reply to your post.

I hope. I hate to remove Trains. They are keeping a TON of trucks off the roads.
Do you have any traffic mods in use?

Verulius Forgefire > Even at this moment, I can use a few number of mods (max 10). TMPE - Move it - Fine and Anarchy road toll - unlimited soil - 1st p.camera.
Probably the version 2 of fine and anarchy R.T. works better.. otherwise maybe if Caseyas look at the settings/options of TMPE check the "maintenance" and try out the options (tmpe) could find a solution

One thing to check, maybe there are two one-way tracks facing each other at that location?

TMPE for traffic. Without it I don't see how anyone could play.

Like I said it's just odd. Somewhere on a rail line somewhere a Train will just stop. Delete train. The next will stop in the same place. Rebuild it tiny piece of track and off they go running perfectly.

I had that very problem for a while in my city. Which version of TMPE are you using? as the problem for me was the train was trying to change tracks at a node, just like a highway node. The problem has went away with the latest version of TMPE Alpha 11.

Instead of deleting and rebuilding the section of track, just open TMPE, select the node the train is stopped at, select the lane connectors tool, and shift S on that node, and the trains will continue on their merry way.

This game can very well be played without TM: PE it requires a little more fiddling with the streets but it works.

Also check if you set banned cargo train (to the point where train stops) by mistake

TM:PE Newest version. No Banned Cargo that I know of.

So you think they are trying to which lanes they can't which to in the middle of a track? Interesting. When it happens again I'll give it a try. I didn't think you could lane switch a train with TM:PE.

Thanks for all the replies!

I have it Broken Node mod. They aren't broken. The trains were running over them perfectly. Then suddenly one will stop somewhere. Happened last night. Was building a area my city pushed over 225,000. When back to look the trains are stopped dead. Followed the track until I got to a to where one train it stopped. Nothing in front of it. It was headed off the map. I removed the piece of track it was sitting on. Replaced a new piece. Trains happily started move over that spot again. Deleted the stuck train doesn't work. Once a train started it will stop right there. Deleting all the traffic. Resets everything. But once a train gets to the spot it stops.

The only way to get them over a spot where they are stopping is to rebuild that spot.

It's never the same spot. It happened without warning.

I could remove trains. They are nothing but a money pit. Well they do keep a ton of trucks off the road. But having them always stopping does nothing anyway. I have 14000 people riding Metro. So no one will set foot on a Train to take them anywhere they I've been able to see.

Small buss lines. Not many. 3500 people.

Monorails are about as worth less as trains. People will ride them or metro. Why run miles of track above ground when you can go under with metro.

i understand.. then probably problem arises from population, ι mean the size of the city.
οκ ty for the informations and good luck.

For what its worth, I have the same issue. Gets really annoying. Haven't managed to find anything to help with it yet, but it does occur more as the city gets bigger.

Relay the track, it could be a broken node.
