how to find your warehouses in your city
Hi there,
I play different cities at different times using the Industry DLC. Since all my cities are above 250.000 people, it is kind of difficult to remember where I had placed all my warehouses if I go back to a city after some time.
All the other different types of placeable buildings can be found by one or other of the overviews ("police service" makes all the stations and cars light up violet, same for "health services" with which you can have your hospitals, cemeteries or saunas highlighted): But I have not found an overview which highlights warehouses.
Is there a setting I have just overlooked so far or is it just something they have just forgotten?
It is tiresome chasing delivery trucks... ;-)

Could you do find a cue in imports/export view. I use that to keep track of where my generic industries and what they are up to. I do not run the Industries DLC.

Hello Jason,
thank you for answering. No, it is not working: Neither the export nor the import view does highlight the warehouses. I think, they really forgot this...

Maybe you can use the routes view from your industry and see where the trucks are going. Your warehouses will be among the destinations. Same for the supply of your commerce.

Import/Export (respectively outside connections) -screen highlights only, if a warehouse does actually import/export something. At least that is with me, having the industry dlc.

I noticed though, when a warehouse is freshly built it takes some time for the warehouse to start importing/exporting goods. But when you say the warehouses exist for some time now (as I guess you haven't built them all in the last five minutes) and there aren't any issues with outside connections in your city, then you sould see them there in the outside connections-screen either importing or exporting something. Maybe it's the industry dlc being responsible?

And yeah, you are right: we should be able to see them all via that in/out screen. That seems to have been forgotten by the devs.

A case for a support ticket or suggestion/feedback!

It’s not perfect, but this is a pretty effective work-around that I use:

Note It! by Keallu “can … be used as a much more advanced location-based notebook with easy pinpointing of buildings,..”

I re-name my warehouses “Farm (S) 1”, “Farm (M) 2” etc. and then mark the warehouse by creating a location-based note with the same name.

When you need to find a particular warehouse, just open the Location Notes, zoom in fairly close, then click on the name of the warehouse you want to go to. The screen view will jump straight to the building.
