Graphics Problems
First here is my hardware:
AMD Radeon HD 6570
1GB Video RAM
Core Clock 650 MHz

The issue I'm having is the graphics are just very sloppy and grainy. I can run other games that are more unforgiving on graphics with no issues. This game though it's just a mess it seems. I even removed all the mods, did a clean install and still the graphics are crap. Settings were set to high, so i changed it up and there was absolutely zero difference. I changed the global settings for my graphics adapter and again zero difference in game.

I used to always use RGB cables when playing on my desktop but recently I upgraded the monitor to a Vizio Smart TV with RGB and HDMI options, so i went with the HDMI. Seems like the graphics were better with RGB. Not sure what is causing the problem but the picture is just not sharp and crisp. No pixelation issues. No crashes or lags. Just the quality.

Can you go to the top menu in Steam , select Help, then select System Information and copy and paste the info that appears in the box into your next post so i can check your drivers and outputs.

What resolution was the old monitor and is the new TV 1080p?

Some tips:
Don't buy cheap HDMi cables, spend a few quid on some quality ones if you can, and chose HDMI 2.0 cables as they offer higher resolutions than the old ones.
Try switching the modes on tv to gaming or play about with sharpness and any other graphic setting that the TV has that may affect clarity.
Check the resolutions match with game and Tv

That's an awfully old video card (2010). Did you repurpose it from another machine?

Did you get the latest drivers from AMD dot com?

Your new monitor is 1080p which has a resolition of 1920 x 1080. If your older monitor had a lower resolution, then that would be the issue.

Try lowering your screen resolution and see if that help. 1600x900 or 1280 x 720 (720p). Those scale with 1080p evenly. Maybe try lower.

I actually bought the graphics card brand new in 2010 lol. I didn't realize it had been that long. My older monitor was way lower resolution than the new one, so I'll try lowering it like you suggested. Guess I'll have to upgrade my card soon. I used to use nvidia and thinking of going back to it as i like it much better.

Funny too how an update shows up for my card but it never installs it. It always says its already updated, but the newest version number is higher. Can i override that somehow?

Hey your the guy who was working with me last year when we were trying to get cimtographer to import roads. Did you ever get it to work or just the terrain heights still?

Cimtographer doesn't work at all last time I tested. A shame no one took it over. It was awesome.

As for your graphics card, if lowering resolution doesn't work, then download the latest version from AMD, then uninstall the current one, then reboot and install the latest.

There seems to be a BETA version from AMD from over 2 years ago.

I assume you have the windows update driver, which may be why it is numbered different.

I run the update from within AMD's software application. Perhaps the one currently installed was added by windows update? I'll download new one, uninstall and reboot and see whats up. Thanks for your help! Any suggestions for a new card? I usually buy from TigerDirect or Amazon, depending on who has the better deal, shipping, etc...

Just as a side note, you did turn off depth of field and film grain effects from the game options?

Depends on your budget, but the 60 series or better for nvidia is a good all-around card. The 6GB is much better than the 3GB verison. For AMD 580 8GBis a good card as well, also the 570 8GB. but they both take power cords from the PSU. Unlike your 6570, which uses onboard power through the PCIe lanes. So you may need to buy a PSU as well.

What's your budget? It might be easier to advise.

Well, whats the norm these days? I havent shopped around for a graphics card in 8 years lol. Back in 2010 the card i have now was between 80-100 bucks i think. I'd say after the holidays i could afford more, so prolly 150-200 maybe. 8GB of video ram huh...damn its been a while for me. Back in the day they had just came out with 2GB i think. 1GB was considered pretty awesome.

Check your driver profile settings, I was having a bunch of graphical glitches and it was a custom profile messing with it.

There is a custom profile for it. Should i disable it or change settings to use settings in game?
