Any way to optimize load times/gameplay fps?
So I have some mods >20 installed, and I still only pull about 11fps in game, and loading takes about 15-20 minutes, any way to optimize this with like load order or something like Skyrim? I mean my PC can run basically every other game I own (Elite Dangerous, Shadow of Mordor, Skyrim, even pulls 25 fps in Just "poorly optimized" Cause 3 at mid level settings with low res cutscenes! etc.) on max graphics settings and not even break a sweat, yet when I boot up CS it blows smoke out the vents (Not literally but takes forever and works really hard).

My specs are Nvidia GeForce 840M, Win 10 i7 with I think 6GB RAM, I even use Razer Cortex to help and it's still slow.

CPU and RAM are the big bottlenecks on this game. If your CPU is Sandybdridge or later, that's not the problem. FPS isn't that important in this game since most of the time you're either paused or looking at it from way above anyway.

It wouldn't occour to most people but this is actually one of the most hardware demanding games on the market right now.

Really? Wow. I would have thought that GTA V had it beat by a longshot. Hm.

Yeah mine is like the second or third processor with Sandybridge lol. Juuuuuust enough.

Nothing yhou can do. You system barely meets system requirements, which doesn't actually play the base game to full 9-tiles full..

I have almost the exact samme laptop. i7-6500U, 840m, 8GB RAM. I can get around 6-tiles and 125k population before it starts sloing down.

I was able to lower screen resolution to 720p to get a little further, but it just wasn't enough to make a difference.

If you want to get further, there are a few mods that btpass the rules of the game.

A demand mod to give you full residential demand. This will allow you to build nothing but residential. The game ignores unemployment and you can have 100% unemployment without issues.

Aldo, Ploppable RICO mod can convert any building into another building. So, you can convert Industry, commerce, and office building to residential, so they look more realistic. Warning, ploppable RICO is practically a game unto itself. It has a lot of options and it's meticulous to setup, but it works great.

There are other mods that can help that I can't think of off the top of my head, but these two can get you to 9-tiles full 350k city with ease. Well, depending on RICO if you choose to use it.

But the demand mod is all you need.

EDIT:

This game will never be able to sustain much over 30 FPS. Between Unity and simulation AI, the game will always be low FPS by design. What you need to look for is a 24 hour day times. at x3 a day should take around 3 seconds. at x2 about 6 seconds, and x1 about 10 seconds. These will be your indicators of your system being overloaded. Mods will cause this to slow down quicker as all workshop are add-ons and use extra computer resources.

You are limited as the above post describes but there are some tweaks you can try...

1. Update your graphic drivers
2. Set page file to 2500 Initial size (MB) and 18000 Maximum size (MB)
*Make sure you have enough free space on the hard drive if you set max to18GB

3. Add Cities.exe to high performance mode in your Nvidia control panel

4. Add this to the command line -force-d3d9
