Transit : Train expenses without trains... O_o
Do anyone here have any idea to why I have train expenses without trains or stops? I used to have a couple of custom trainstops and two custom trainstations but I never really used them. I just turned them off after building them and now they have been removed. Currenly, I'm bleeding §5,760.00 and I can not correct the drain, I've turned the train budget down to 50% for both day and night as that is all I can do. If I increase to 100% the amount wasted gets insane. Do the train tracks around the map count? Do the tracks on the roads count as train expenses (tram tracks)?

Train tracks count towards the train upkeep expenses, but it's usually the stations themselves that occupy most of the expenses (tram tracks go into road maintenance). Remember you need to pay upkeep for any stations turned on (both passenger and cargo), even if there was no traffic to or from them.

Good question and easy enough to check.
Just make a save first and then remove all tram tracks, depot and tram stops, but delete the tram lines first before doing so!
Then check the budget again and note any reduction in rail expenses. If there is a reduction, then there's your answer and you may load your save to return to the previous setup.

Thank you for your answers! Here is what I found out:

After having over §5,000.00 train expense (without any stations or tracks), I started demolishing my city and it turns out this "Park" (link below) requires something, under the table so to speak, and whatever it is it makes the budget for the city train increase.

I had a city of +20k before I noticed that this was going on. I also believe that this garage increase the amount of cars that are used in your city (I guess it might be acting as a hidden trainstation as new people are coming into the city or are just visiting???). Kinda insane how many cars were flooding my streets, even with the insane transit coverage of bus, trams and metro that I have.

I had like twenty of the different garage models placed around my city before I noticed, I can not have a city with garages that secretly work with the train cabal to drain my budget!

Forkboy22 is the creator and I've left a message under each asset page.

So the assets are the following (Garage-1 to Garage-3, that I've subscribed to, it seem SkiRich saw something earlier, his post can be found under Garage-3):

I love the models/assets but I can not have a drain on the budget like this! =o]

Ah... that's an interesting anomaly. Many thanks, I have made a note of this.
The key clue is in the asset description,
- They are listed under their own tab in the Public Transport toolbar and not mixed in with all your other parks.
If this asset is considered as a transport service rather than a park, then naturally it will accrue an upkeep cost although the asset description doesn't specify which or how much, but you have the proof that it's rail expenses at least.

Anytime! =o]

Yes, I noticed the description. Regardless of the placement of the assest, what part of a trainstation can you take and give it to another assest and it will have the same affect on the game? Was this done by accident? Why make a garage that has the same purpose as a trainstation? In my city the people actually used the garage assets, so I'm sad that I will not be continue using them... It looked kinda funny when all drivers hovered their cars into the parking structure... lol

I have not tried to do so, but why disable it if I want to use it? Some of the assets take alot of space as well... no worries, there are single floor/road parking lots I can create... I prefered how the city looked before anyhow... thank you for your time! =o]
