The game tells you what's wrong. Also, check Chirpy messages for extra info.
If you bulldozed ploppable buildings recently, that is probably why. They usually provide a lot of happiness.
But follow the above posts as well. Sometimes something that was ok before has slipped back into a bad state and needs to be improved again.
Screw the people, Screw their buildings and screw the "rules of the game". Game runs just fine without them.
Traffic can sometimes cause this issue. It's hard to say without a saved game or at least some screenshots.
But I find that services make cims happy. So, add services you don't have in the unhappy areas, and it should slowly make them happier.
This can happen seemingly suddenly when you are building in other areas of your city, When you come back to the older unhappy districts, the cims are usually unhappy, as the services have become overloaded.
Your services don't grow with your leveling buildings, so you may need to add more services to the area. as a level 1 buildings need less services than a level 5 building. So as your city matures, you may need go back and add more services again, and again.
Also, you can click on your problematic building and hover over the details and it will tell you what may be causing the issue(s).
