Coal power plants running out of fuel? (Help)
Suddently my electricity was dropping and I saw that my power plants werent getting coal. I googled this issue and found that too much traffic can cause this. There wasn't a lot of traffic anywhere in my city but I still made it so that the highway was directly connected to the plants, but it didn't help. I even but the power plants on the highway!! Still no cigar. Please help me my city keeps on dying over and over due to this.

I wonder if coal checks under the "ore" ressource. Might want to check that.
Else, I strongly suggest building wind turbines.

Yeah just go with renewable energy to avoid having to transport fuel. Once you get a large enough city and access to a larger body of water you can use the advanced wind turbines to meet your electricity needs, and once your city can support solar power/other advanced renewable options with the Green Cities DLC it becomes easy to have enough power. I never use coal.

Coal power plants do receive ore deliveries, i.e. coal.
Oil power plants receive oil deliveries.

Off map coal will have to traverse the highways from off map to your city. Having your power plants close to the highway is good. Patience.

If you have any ore deposits available, make an ore district. Coal will be deliered from there. Again, patience.

Build some renewable power source. I'll keep 5 to 10 turbines on the map that are turned off when the extra power isn't needed and added 1 or 2 at a time when more power is needed.

Also confirm that the deliveries can get to the power plants. One way roads pointing the right direction, no policies that may effect the delivery trucks.

Hey thanks! I figured it out. It does take a while for it to be delivered but it does get there at some point.
