Supply Chain in Industries DLC is not broken/bugged,,,,
it is only dump! That´s all. The industry concept is without any depth or innovation. I looks good - but not more. I´m sorry for the money spent for this and i am sorry about the mods, without this game would be crap, are broken now. it´s a shame

Well ive been saying its broken, but its somewhat what you said. The intent is for it to work properly, raw resources supplying production, instead of exporting raw and importing raw like a dumb AI. So yea its broken

What mods are you using
Crazybmanp Oct 26, 2018 @ 9:52pm
@luis is there a mod that is breaking supply chains, if so feel free to tell us.
Admiral Obvious Oct 27, 2018 @ 12:20am
As far as I'm aware, no mod should be breaking supply chains. However. I've noticed that if you don't keep, basically all your storage sites on "empty", the AI will end up trying to do the whole sell/import thing as a result of trying to stick to the 50% storage ratio.

If you can get the raw resources on your map, set storage to empty.

If you can't get the raw resource on your map (ore and oil are good examples, since you'll drain them eventually) set the warehouse for the raw resource to fill, and the secondary products to empty.

quite a bit of depth has been added. There's a lot to learn and a lot to do as far as managing the industries, so I'd say it's innovative as well. If you watched the live broadcasts, either live or on YouTube, you'd see that there's a lot to the new DLC.

i watched all the live streams and hours of other youtubers. This alone makes me angry, because without investigation of different lets plays and tutorials, nothing is explained ingame. When it comes to supply chain, me and others, don´t understand the function of the storage yards (silos, log yard etc). A normal thinking human being, without a sick brain, would think, that this f.... storage is made for giving resoures to the level2 industrial buildings. For example - log yard is giving log to the sawmill. Buuuuuut, this is not the case. The log yard is seeing itself as an independent company, wich has only one goal - to fill itself up with logs, to sell those logs and/or deliver some of them to your sawmill, or sell and deliver immdediatly by empting itself. Because of this sh... your industrial forestry is IMPORTING forest product. How stupid is this? There are plenty of forest tiles who can´t sell their products anymore, because nobody wants to buy them, but my log yard is importing. Dear God!
And HERE starts the problem...people don´t see any sense in it, because, the idea of the storage is not explainded in a proper way and doesn´t give any usefull information ingame. Storage buildings and warhouses are different from each other. Warhouses can help to lower the problem with the limited numbers of trucks every resource producing unit has. But, there is no information panel wich lets me see, where the trucks are and how the trucks are used. The same with the storage, wich has to be in your industrial area.
Sorry for my bad englisch - i would like to explain in a more gentle way as it is. But, as in nearly every game in the last year, no reliable information by the developers is given. So, you need hours of understandig how this or that is thought to be working, despite any logic, as known from reality.

This has been going on forever. I made a video during Snowfall and it was still doing it almost three years ago. This is forestry and it is importing/exporting at the same time as well. Around 12:30 to end.

I have 3 industries at lev 5 now on my first ind map. All working as they are meant to, no icons on top of buildings. Not sure why so many are having so many probs. I would suggest you do some micro management to get them working.

Well, the point is (as DI Mjohnson pointed out) that your processing plants are still importing parts of their resources, even if you are producing enought or overproducing for the coressponding raw resource. So no, they ar enot wokring as intended, they are simply working well enought to work.

Which, considering how small the changes CO would need to do actually are, is a real problem.

The most frustrating thing is oil, because the pumps run dry too fast and you have to constantly move them around. Then you end up importing oil at a pretty high cost and exporting the oil from your city at low rates. Kind of like what my country has been doing with Alberta's oil for so long. We're selling it at a firesale and importing gold plated stuff from the middle east like it's supposed to be something special.

Same here Pops, and making so much money too, I have never had a 35k city with 11 million in the bank and still the tax rate is 9%! Traffic flow is only about 30 to 50% even with a toll booth on every entrance/exit to the city.

Corrections, its my mod that shows traffic flow, the lower the better, the in game traffic is 85%. Exports are 13K but imports about 1.5k, difficult to tell as they lump post in with imports and exports now.
