Do you play with finite resources?
Just wondering, I've never managed to play without infinite natural resources, they all just vanish waaaaay too quickly that it makes the creation of specialized industry seem like a complete waste of time, even after the expansion I tried playing with finite resources but the oilfields were empty before I even finished building the oil zone.

What are your thoughts?

No... i want to build and not micro manage. So infinite ground resources for me!

Same for me.

Never used infinite ressources... also no unlimitedc money.
Specialized industry works with import as well.

I've never played with any of the unlimited or unlock mods provided with the game. No micromanagement invovled. If a resource runs out, any extractors will convert to processors and use imported raw resources.

It is incredibly unrealistic how fast the resources are depleted in CSL so i always use infinite resources.

No, I never used infinite resource mods. I gave up them long ago, along with industry specialization. I just build the industry/commerce I need and then build offices.

Too much of a PITA to deal with it depleting in a few months. It might be worth while if it lasted decades.

But I just gave up on the mechanic. Maybe the new one will give he interest it using it again.. But it seems way too much micro for the effort as well. I'll keep going and see what a large city can handle. But I'm not holding my breath.

i think the natural resources should be repaired rather than waxed. Making an official infinite resource mod was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ idea, and should have made the resources last for a lot longer before it's depleted rather than just stop decay and call it a job well done

infinite

Never used infinite resources. In fact, never used resources at all.

My economy depends entirely on other cities' imported products, which is unnoticeable thanks to a freeway passing through every island of my city (playing on an island based map. Yes, it's challenging.)
This statement can change now with the new Industry DLC, though...

I think I did try using Forest Industry through manually placed trees, but Jesus H Christ did it end with the biggest wildfire my city has ever seen. Every Fire Department on the city came to respond.

Yeah, maybe like new extractors that can get more out the the old resources, causing you to spend a lot to upgrade to make more profit. Maybe Fracking for late game? lol

90% of my city were done with vanilia sytem for the ressources.
Twice I refilled some spot with terraforming mod
Now I test the slowdown option of Extend game option; at the moment I'm at 30% of vanillia depletion speed. It could slow it down again.

For now I never use infinite money, but I'll probably activate it in a futur city to use more of the construction possiblity.

Never used it. Seemed dumb to make it infinite. If the mod tweaks it to make it last longer, say fifteen years, then maybe i'd use it. Now though, I drain the oil and then import.

Being me, I like farms better anyway. Makes me think of satay when I play.

I don't think it's dumb infinite because chance to play game, because if resource ran out, then petty much game over for that map, righ? and building that dig resource is no longer useful as well, it's sitting duck in iocn bar and can't be used if resource is not on map.
