Water problem/waves
Hi, i've got a problem
I played some hours on '' Shady Strands'' map, and everything went good, until it's born a sort of '' tsunami ''. I do not have natural disaster's dlc, i only have mass transit and after dark. Plus, there can't be tsunami from that side of the map, but only from the other side.
Some screenshot; that's how the map should be

And that's how it became by itself

I tried to stop it by building some terrain walls, but the waves just keep coming, and i can't do anything

My guess would be a mod. Did you change any mod settings? Does it keep coming? how many years has it been doing this?

I did nothing, i tried to do a harbour, but then i deleted it without even activate it because i didn't like it, then this happened. All the mods/assets were already in the game when i started the map. No years, just happened and i saved before any problem. I guess it's a bug, i'd like to recover an old save but i can't do it
I also tried to set the level of the sea to 0 with Extra Landscaping Tools mod, but it's like there's another sea out of the zone and above the actual that fill again everything lol

Yes, it's a bug, it's called a mod.

For a test, temporarily launch the game with -noWorkshop and I'm sure it'll go away. Well, after it does its damage. Maybe post a save of the game and we can look it over and pinpoint the issue more easily than guessing games.

I don't think it's a mod issue, because it happened after several hours of gameplay. I started the map with the same mods i have now; it's like the wave arrived to fill a river that has gone almost dry, because when the river is full the waves go away
is it possible to recover an old save?
I can't play after the wave damage because the whole city is destroyed

I have to wonder if it is the new update? I have had that happen, too. I relandscaped the shoreline on this city and made tall cliffs above the rivers except where the water pipes start and end..

Yeah me too, in the end i figured it out
after many tries i raised a terrain wall where needed and limited the problem; hope it won't happen again

Using 81 tiles mod and built a Hydro dam outside of 25 tiles square? I know that causes a Tsunami or 2 when you load a save..

On the map editor, when creating a map, waves of water arrive from the edges to fill those areas that is below sea level.

One more thing, how did that river went dry? Did you removed the water source upstream?

Also, unsubscribe to old terraforming mods, the one that works for the latest patch is called Extra Landscaping Tools.

This sounds like the most likely issue. The 81-tile mod states this on its workshop page.
