Gaming on low spec laptop
hi guys, im considering buying this game and my only concer is will it work on my hardware...
so my specs are:

cpu: i7-4510u @3Ghz (turbobusted, 2 cores 4 threads)
gpu: gtx 850m 4gb
8gb of ram

and im wondering will it work at playable framrate (30+ fps), and yeah i know this game is demanding as hell especially in bigger cities. However i realy want to give this game a shot for my self becouse it looks great and i dont want to spend that much money on something that in the end wont work as good as i would like to

Shure it will, but from what I heard it's fairly inaccurate, it shows that I can play this on medium. However from my previous experience it don't match pretty often, for example I had a game that showed that my PC will had no problem running it on max settings because it has a lot more power than recommended settings. And when I opened this game it performed terrible on any settings, and I don't really trust game debate. Just read some opinions about this and you'll know why hah

Laptops are not the greatest for gaming unless their defined as gaming laptops, so with what you have said alonng with my info i would say no then.

That's what I'm thinking too, however I can run easily killing floor 2 on high with solid 60fps, red faction guerrilla remastered on very high and 60 too. And honestly quite a lot of other games that i've played. But I'm not Shure if C:S is good optimized for 2 core cpu's, it may not be unfortunately

It's not running well on my i5 6600k at the moment, so i wouldn't touch it with a yard stick at the moment with your specs.

Sim City is not bad, it's a little outdated but still lots of fun and runs well on lower spec machines ;)

I really enjoyed playing it a few years back, get the Rush Hour DLC as well i'm sure you will enjoy it and besides there's not that many City building simulators out there, this one may be worth a look at but i'm not sure if your machine could run that either, your very limited by the graphic card.

I have a much higher spec desktop and with a city of 50k people, I barely get 30 FPS most of the time. So no you won't get 30 FPS at least not once you start building even a moderate sized city.

I'll give it a shot too, most of the time I found my CPU to be an issue so I dunno, I think gpu isn't that terrible

You'll never get much higher frame rate than that no matter what card or super computer you have, there's people with 1080's that barely get 45fps when zoomed out and around 30 when they zoom in, the game is just not configured like a first person shooter.

So cities skylines is not an option unfortunately

It may be fine with other games but for Skylines laptop graphics are simply not good enough unless you pay £1000 or thereabouts, and because Cities in Motion is from the same publisher you might struggle with that too.

Ohh okay, honestly I can always download it from someone just to see how it will perform, and the. Buy it in steam. I do this sometimes when I really don't know if something will work and I don't want to waist my money so that's not bad option I think, especially when I'll get a copy if it works alright
