Why are my tunnel entrances "caved in"?

I just returned to CS after a year+ long hiatus. Been trying out some maps on the workshop. But I'm finding the pre-built tunnels on the map (like the highways and such), their entrance is not popping a hole in the terrain and just covered in dirt. Functionally still works, just looks bugged and ugly. Not limited to any one map, and happens for mostly highways and sometimes railways.

I thought it may of been a mod to blame so I tried only using the mods the maps were requiring, but that didn't fix it either.

This happened on a bunch of maps that I was trying out. That screenshot is from Greenfalls though (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1290191306)

I have a whole mess of mods on now, but when I was troubleshooting it, trying to isolate the problem, I only had some asset mods on that the map was calling for + all the DLC.

It only happens on low slope hills. If the hill is steep it'll cut a hole through fine.

This will happen when you lay the road/track at a depth of less than -12 and for a distance less than 9 cells.

The best enterance to tunnel you can get with no mods is 12 cells long and down -12. Repeat - no mods. These measurements on flat ground will give you the best slope in vanilla.

@Owlchemist not sure if you fixed this (very old post), but I had a similar problem yesterday when searching for fixes found this post. I un-subbed Building Anarchy and it resolved itself. It could be a setting not just a plain incompatibility but as I wasn't using it anyhow, un-subbing fixed things for me.
