City layout generator
I always have difficulty starting a map where I want it to look aesthetically pleasing rather than purely functional in gameplay. Most of the time I try some geometric shapes for the first few blocks to avoid boring old grids, but get frustrated that they just don't look interesting.
So I looked for a layout generator, turns out to be more difficult than you'd think since medieval RPGs seem to have cornered the SEO on that concept. Anyway I found this, for those like myself who are predisposed to sucking at level design, for use with Image Overlay.

It's not just a random generator either. If you click on the map it will draw in additional roads to fill in gaps you don't like.

Lol, Starting maps. I too have alway had issue with starting maps. It shouldn't matter so much to me because in the end I go back over almost every inch of the city countless times anyways tweaking, slightly moving things or completely remodleing an area, but still it's not easy starting out.

The Workshop has starter grids. I use those often.
