Limit on trees?
I know there is a 250,000 tree limit when building a map but just now I was planting one of my neighborhoods and it came up with an error saying "You can not build any more of this object" when all I was doing was adding trees. Does the same maximum tree count that you have when making a map also count for when you are planting trees in game?

Yes it's one in the same. The total consists of total trees already on map and ones you plant, as a whole number

Yea, its unfortunate, this includes all trees, wether on buildings or roads, or planted, they all count towards the total

Weird that it counts trees on roads because the 2 and 6 lane roads in my residential areas are tree lined and it’s still letting me build tree lined roads. I found an unlimited tree mod but am debating on whether or not to use it because what if it breaks the game and ruins the city? Should I make a separate save game as a recovery file if it crashes the city or should I not bother?

Always have more than 1 save for each city, and alternate saves when saving so if one becomes corrupt you can use the other as a back up
