PSA: If you can't zone next to roads, disable the New Roads For Network Extension 2 mod
It's been mentioned in a lot of places however as threads are still popping up I thought this PSA could be good! Our modding community are champions when it comes to dedication in bringing all your favourite mods up to date however we have to give them some time.

Can you release a beta version of updates to the community so they can update stuff first before going live? Sure would help alot.

We actually do exactly that in our modding beta program! This has made it much easier for modders to adjust to the new content/functionality we release as well as make completely new mods for the new content (see Parkify by Bloodypenguin!). That said it does not make everything bulletproof, some mods still need some work to be compatible with the live version. Never had the mod and I can't place buildings. I disabled most of my other mods and I was able to place buildings for like 20 minutes then nothin.

the mod had been updated, try uninstall/reinstall, it's working fine for me

Just as well. It's the worst mod ever made for the game. If buildings are being abandoned, there's a reason for it. If those buildings are being bulldozed before you can find out the cause and correct it, buildings will just continue to be abandoned. When you play the game properly you will have very few abandoned buildings.

If unsubing to next2 mod and prob still exists, unsub no pillars mod as well.

thanks for this. Just went into the game tonight and got quite confused as not only could I not zone along a road, I also couldn't place ANY building (electricity etc) on a road. I'll turn that off and try turning off no pillars also. EDIT: just confirming, turned off both and zoning and building placement now work for me.

I'm curious as to how this update would make it so that the way the game handles zoning beside roads changes?

I couldn't find which mod I have thats causing it, but it seems I have 66 pages of mods, so...... yea. I just don't want to play this game anymore. I finally had a working city that I liked with the traffic manager president edeition, but it can't grow anymore, and if I turn off my mods, wont half my city disappear?

Not the devs fault, but seriously frustrated that this broke so much. I'm going to look at downgrading.

Also kudos to yall for still updating this game! I mean I've had it for a few forevers now and its still fun to play, and apparently still being updated.

Its not nex2 at all, its no pillard thats the prob with the zoning. By the way no pillars is noted as broken, look at the list. Well was last time i looked an hr ago.

No pillars is working just fine, it's the damned New Roads For Network Extension 2, which, of course, has nothing to do with the authors of NEXT2. I have 64 mods enabled (5 more I don't want to try yet), of all types you can imagine + all but Hard Mode of the built in mods.

Be aware that if you subscribe to both Extra Landscaping Tool and in Find It you will have to uncheck "Enhance all menu" in options!
