Zoning alongside paths
So I was under the impression we were able to actually zone alongside pedestrian paths within park areas but this is not the case. Here is the quote from the DLC's description:

"FREEWAY FREE FOR ALL
For the first time in Cities: Skylines, you can place buildings next to paths in the park districts (not just next to roads). Props can be placed anywhere inside park areas."

It seems that the only buildings placeable alongside the paths is the specific park's buildings, and not just any building/zones.

Is this a bug or is the description simply misleading?

If this is intended then this is a real disappointment - I was looking forward to attempting to make a sort of "national park" city. I can still attempt this, but it won't be anywhere near as effective :(

I think you misunderstood it. I saw ConflictNerd on Youtube, his video called "What's New in Cities Skylines Parklife". You can place any building and the park area is like district and it can overlap other districts. Check out his video and you will learn a thing or two how the new features of the DLC work. Good luck :)

Yes IM confused by this as well - this was one of the more exciting features for me, that I would be able to place building structures and other park structures on paths and not just on roads (which is what the marketing says!)

You CAN place park buildings along those paths, but not the old parks. Unless you use Parkify mod. You can't zone anything along them though.

This is so disapointing - literally half the reason I got this DLC :( straight up lies
Can't even place the regular park items next to paths, such as dog parks, botanical gardens and japanese gardens.

Because they are not park buildings. Yet, there is a mod from Bloody Penguin which changes their AI class and you can plop all the premade vanilla parks along the paths... Called Parkify.
