Does this game work on Windows 10 yet?
Bought this when I had Windows 7 and worked fine. Now that I’ve had windows 10 for about a year I would like to play again but I don’t want to purchase the new version on the Microsoft store

Don't purchase the version on the Microsoft Store!

As I understand it, you will be severely limited. Go Steam on this one. :)

Windows 10 Creator doesn't like a lot of games. If you are running that switch it out.

Don't buy the win10 version of Cities: Skylines. It does not have Steam at all and no workshop, no editors of any kind. All files are hidden and you can even access your save games. It's a huge mess.

But yes, Cities Skylines (Steam) works in Windows 10 just fine (as long as you have 64-bit version). It has worked for me even when I was BETA testing Windows 10 before it was released.

It sounds like you have an underpowered computer.

The minimum requirements for the game are outdated and the recommended specs are barely enough to play the game as well.

What are your computers specs? If you don't know, go to the Steam app and then the HELP menu on the menu bar at the top left. The click on System Information and it will have your system specs.

You will need:

Under Processor: you need - CPU Brand:
Under Video Card: you need - Driver
Under Memory: you need RAM

Can you tell me what the specs for this game should be? As long as i dont try and up the speed of the game it does fine but the minute that I do it freezes for crashes. I figured it might be the cpu so i just went and replaced the one that it came with but it still seems to be an issue. Im just getting into to pc gaming. Have always been an Xbox guy.

The biggest things that cause most new players issues are integrated graphic and too low memory. 8GB is absolute minimum RAM and may give you trouble if you own all major DLC as the game will use over 25 GB of memory. 16GB should handle the game fully, but very little DLC and a small few mods and maybe a few hundred assets. 32GB will handle a ton of mods and assets.

But I recommend no less than 16 GB for a whole new system.

The game was designed to work with 4-core/8-thread i7 CPUs. So that would be minimum for today. I recommend at least a 6-core/12-thread CPU or better as this will allow 4-core/8-threads for the game, then you'll have an extra 2-core/4-threads for windows and other backgrounds tasks, plus keeps your CPU from running 100% and keep temps down a bit more.

You can get by with any just about any video card with GDDR5/GDDR6 video memory.

Other games may want a better video card. Especially AAA games.

BTW, what are the specs of your computer?

They are
CPU: Intel i7 3770 3.9GHz
CPU Cooler: H60 Corsair
MOBO: Asus P8B75-M LE\
RAM: Crucial 8GB 1600MHz DDR3
GPU: EVGA GTX 760 SC 2GB GDDR5
HDD: Seagate 1TB
PSU: Rosewill 450-Watt
MarkJohnson Jun 7, 2020 @ 11:43pm
Your power supply is a little on the low side. The GPU takes two power connectors alone. Does that thing have two PCIe power connectors? Usually 450 watt PSUs have a single 6-pin. But your card lists as 1x6-pin and 1x8-pin. That's 225 watts alone, CPU is around 200 watts under load. You are almost 450 watts already.

My guess is you need a 500+ watt PSU. I'd go 600 myself, for headroom. Make sure the PSU has at least 2 different PCIe power cables. I'd get an 80-plus PSU, as it has decent standards for power supplies.

Yeah, your specific 760 states it wants a 500 watt PSU minimum and 30 amps on the 12-v rail. With the i7, I'd shoot for 600-watts.
