MOM
Pros:
Extremely popular
Revamps the vanilla metro system
Has been worked on extensively.

Cons:
Sometimes causes issues for some players.
Has a lot of dependencies.

RORT
Pros:
Uses the existing rail (train) system and only adds a new type of rail network you can plop on top of your roads.
Isn't as complicated to use as MOM.

Con:
Currently only has one station made for it, but things could change when BadPeanut picks up the project again.

So which would you guys prefer of the two? As for myself, RORT all the way :D

I prefer MOM. Not all metro lines in the world are underground, there are some at-grade or Elevated Rail. In SimCity 4 you can connect elevated rail to your subway line. The default rail transport in the game (Badpeanut's Rail over roads) is heavy/commuter rail, which is for intercity services or local long-haul lines.

Metro Overhaul Mod for me, just add "Elevated rail over road" network.

I prefer clus' LRT tracks which, being tram tracks, can be used on their own (like rail), on roads (like tram), elevated (somewhat like RORT, especially if you use Network Skins to add custom pillars), and also underground (like metro). He even has a MOM-style depot for the vehicles to spawn from and several underground stations (although they take up way more room that metro entrances). And because it's just road assets, there's no code to update each time a patch comes out.

BTW, if you search workshop under "Roads" category, there's a train track _in_ road asset which is pretty unique.

The only con on using clus' LRT tracks is that, they use tram assets, not train assets like MOM. I like to see metro trains running on tram tracks but that's not possible yet?

Unique AND extremely dangerous if applied in real life. My guess is that, that particular asset was maybe created BEFORE "Snowfall" and the author was attempting his hand at his interpretation and own implementation of a Tram system but had to use trains as an alternative.

One other benefit to avoiding mods like MOM (and NEXT2) is that you can shave about 2 minutes off game load time. Those mods do crazy amounts of trawling and updating assets during the loading process.
